Play Nethergate. Or Avernum 2 (although the Avernums are just Exile remakes). Or, if you want a huge variation play the new BoE scenarios and that will keep you busy for a long time. For the love of God don't even tread NEAR Homeland. And I'd advise against A4 as well, but there are a few people that like it so it must appeal to some. Classic Rock and Power Metal. Oh, and 70's and 80's pop type stuff, I'm the kinda guy that gets completely wasted and then proceeds to dance and sing to those kind of things. Posts: 776 | Registered: Friday, July 4 2003 07:00 |

I'm pretty sure theres a walkthrough that comes with the game. I think this section is what you want - "You will be in the School Library. The library is closed off by another glowing portcullis. You can’t enter it yet. Instead, walk across to the east side of the level, find the room full of rubble, and go down the cave slope to the east (there are stairs down to the south, don’t go down them yet). You will be in the Vahnatai Caverns. Go east until you meet the vahnatai. Talk to them. In particular, talk to Baia-Tel until he tells you that Zereen has the stone of power and that some spiders have a useful artifact. Talk to Zereen and ask him to give you the stone of power. Finally, Baia-Tel will tell you that a bitter person on the surface has a copy of the instructions to the school controls." Things made at home are usually more powerful as you can have some crazy additions to them. Too bad they're usually far less safe. I remember a story about someone using a flamethrower made from a fire extinguisher which brings about this image. Posts: 776 | Registered: Friday, July 4 2003 07:00 |

On the topic of projectiles we made a spud gun out of a large pipe and a hell of a lot of hair spray. We fired it from my friends house into the ocean (which is a good 500-600 metres away). We thought this was brilliant so we fired it at a paddock. Unfortunitly it went over the paddock and slammed into a power thingy on the power pole, giving it one hell of a dint. Ah the joys of living in a small town in New Zealand. The police will come and investigate if someone is dying or robbing something, but past that they don't really seem to care. In fact there's a unofficial rule, if your on the this towns side of the bridge you're allowed to drive without a licence or a road registed vehicle. If you're on the other side of the bridge the law will be on your ass in an instant. Posts: 776 | Registered: Friday, July 4 2003 07:00 |

I don't think posting how to use it here is a brilliant idea as that would only encourage lurking trolls to use it. Posts: 776 | Registered: Friday, July 4 2003 07:00 |

Personally I don't think the homeland graphics were that bad. Everything else in that game however, sucked. Posts: 776 | Registered: Friday, July 4 2003 07:00 |

Wee, just when you think that having trolls occasionally on this forum is annoying, we can now have trolls that can use HTML (though I assume they will be few are far between). Posts: 776 | Registered: Friday, July 4 2003 07:00 |

No. Jeff just used the Geneforge engine so it was easier for everything to be the same / similar. The shaper comment was ( I assume) meant to be a joke as you have to use shaper graphics for your character. Posts: 776 | Registered: Friday, July 4 2003 07:00 |

AT / BoA graphics for sure. I guess Exile graphics would be my second choice. I just don't want it to be A4 graphics but that seems like what it's going to be. Posts: 776 | Registered: Friday, July 4 2003 07:00 |

Pretty much. My house is out in the country so it's ideal for that. For the more legal drinking binges it's their flat. What fun. Speaking of studying there was a police raid down the road the other day, apparently there was 1600 plants worth of studying down there. I probably wont be seeing those guys for a few years.
