Because you touch yourself at night... I'm sorry, I just had to use that one at some point in my life. No hard feelings, right? Ouch, bad pun... sorry again.

Anyway. TM should be de-banned and Alorael should be an Admin. That about sums it up.

It's more conceptual to me than actually pragmatic. Perhaps it's why I'm not a very skilled player.
Suppose your token healer dies, then everyone's screwed. Sure, being overly well-rounded is a great weakness as well, but when push comes to shove, it doesn't hurt to have variety.

I've noticed that Avernum's system, unlike Exile's, kinda makes it harder to have variety and not completely and utterly suck

True, though variety is nice.

Although, come to think of it, Avernum had a bunch of redundant skills... truthfully too many for it's own good. And as stated by Imban, the changing prices of the Avernum skills was a pain.

So I should make some corrections...

Has the best parts of both skills systems: Avernum's variety(sans unnecessary reduncies) and Exile's fixed skill point costs; plus a compromise max value between the 2. Exile's biggest skill max is 20, while Avernum's is somewhere over 100. Thus I say 40 would be a good max.

Woot for Nethergate!

Sorry, but the Avernum fans have to pay homage to Nethergate, because without it, Avernum probly would've have come into existence.

Anyway, if there was a remake of Avernum and Exile that took the best aspects of the two: Exiles graphics(though they could use some polishing) and spells & Avernum's character set up, game interaction, and some of the graphics; and bam! great game. I'd probly buy it.

Anarchy is a short-live entity that will always give way to new organization.

Anyway, a government where everyone gets a vote and gets a say in everything is only as strong as the weakest members of that society. In all reality, not everyone should have a say in every aspect of life. Some people don't meet the moral and ethical requirements to make decisions that effect countless others, while others simply don't want to do it.

Ultimately, the book "1984" had the right idea, but of course it was done for the wrong purpose. Aptitude test. Test people when they hit a certain age to see what they should be doing and what their role in politics should be.

Truthfully, that's how career should be selected too, but that's probly something for another debate.

"Well," James thought to himself, "at least one of them is observant. I suppose it would've helped to at least try to be somewhat stealthy... Come to think of it, these outer monologues probly aren't helping me any... Oh well... Since they know I'm here I might as well go say hello." After doing some complex math equations in less a second, James teleported straight to Noric & Sveltas and said to the two "Hey. The word on the street is that you two are researching the deities. I was just gonna spy on you until you found out something useful, but since y'all already know I'm here, I figured that I might as well join you."

EDIT:

"Who knows, you might actually find me to be useful, despite my seemingly endless monologues. 'specially when it comes to anything that requires a somewhat functional brain," James continued, "And of course, I can always get you some food or something, too. And by the way, I would greatly appreciate it if you never called me a 'Minstrel' that's very inappropriate. You should be... Nevermind... So will y'all accept my help, or will I have to keep stalking you until I get bored or you strike me down with lightning or something?"

I don't think TM should be admin anything just yet, but at the very least I suppose unbanning him for a while couldn't hurt, unless he actually did enough bad stuff to merit it(which I honestly don't remember whether he did or didn't).

Look up the history... Okay... between the history channel and actual history books, I'm pretty sure I did that already...

And I still stick with my statements. The bosses, for the most part, got into power by intimidating and oppressing the poor. I don't deny that they did do some petty favors for the immigrants, but those favors usually had pretty price tags attached.

Yes, no thug work at all. Voter intimidation never happened at all. Nope. Not at all. The bosses got their votes solely by being really nice to everyone. Yep. That must be how it went down.

I vote for Alorael too, but only only under the condition he use his almighty admin powers to solve... er, I mean, Alorael is the best guy on the planet and should be an admin!

Seriously, though. This place could stand to have more admins. I've never seen a day that DF's message box hasn't been full, and I don't really know much about this *I dude, so I can't say anything about him.

Alorael has(from what I've seen, though there is a big gap in between my Spiderweb tours of duty) been a pretty solid guy and Spiderweb could stand to have an admin.

Sidenote: All in all, in my (limited) experience. The only one who rivals Alorael in reliability and effectiveness is Imban(and no I'm not brown nosing on that off chance he ever gets to be in a position to help me out with my master plan. Same goes for Alorael *insert shifty glance here*)

Yeah, if you can call run-down slums, dangerous life-threatening industrial jobs(and prostitution), and the small possibility of getting to do thug work for a boss the exact opposite of oppression

No matter the system, the end result is always the same: Oppression.

In every system of government that was, is, or will be will exist on some form of subjugation. There will always be those select few who will dominate the masses.

Even if there is a revolution that replaces the existing corrupt government with a new pure one, that new idealistic government will become just as corrupt as its predecessor.

Politics were always the bane of civilization...

Personally, I think the world would be a better place if places like the United States would have 3 major parties instead of two.

Take the past 2 presidential elections for example. If we had 3 major parties instead of 2, then we could've had a 3rd incompetent fool to have the option of voting for. Then it would be the "least of 3 evils" instead of the "lesser of 2" thing we've had in the past. Kinda helps give us more of an illusion of choice, ya know

If it makes anyone feel better, somewhere during the gap between now and the earlier 2000s(I honestly don't remember when I stopped coming here, but it's so far back that none of my old stuff is locatable-thank god-), I sacrificed much of my vocabulary to improve on my personality(and actually had some degree of success, except for my dot addiction). It's funny how life turns out... but I'm gonna stop there before I go into stuff that y'all'd care even less to hear about...
