Best (and Worst) Movies of the Year in General

Huh, I've seen more movies this past year than I thought I would've... But just nine, apparently.

Out of those that I've seen, I'd say these three are the top (but not necessarily great, just that I enjoyed them).

FC Venus, which is a Finnish movie, so hardly any one of you will probably know of it. I really enjoyed it and I think I may just have to get this on DVD at some point.

Casino Royale. Well, I did enjoy it quite a bit.

And a tie between Cars and Hoodwinked!. I have a thing for animations. The second movie did have singing though, but I can't remember it being too terrible, so it didn't get dropped off the list. I can't stand song scenes. I just detest them from the bottom of my very soul and heart.

The worst movie I saw this year? The first Chronicles of Narnia movie. Hated it, not because the story had changed, but because all the changes were for the worse. And I hate near-death-scenes and the needless "OMG DRAMA WILL THEY SURVIVE, NOOOOOO...!" - wait, yes, they do. Every time. The special effects were pretty, but the movie itself sucked big time. Horrible waste of money. I regret going to see it.

There's really no good options there for me either. I suppose the high level of interest for theoretical knowledge around here explains how all the options are something you'd study in college or university, but I have no interest in pursuing any of them as a career myself. Actually, I have been considering the idea of applying to a vocational school to study to be a dressmaker. Of course, I can't really draw well, so I doubt I'd get in. One should always try, though.

We should have had snow like that for the past month and some, but instead we have been snow-free. It's just above zero temperature out there, sometimes even 5 celsius, when it should be -5.

I don't mind though. The snow is pretty, but I never did care for the icy wind blowing and freezing my face off.

Rosalie turned around, but all there was behind her was a hard wall.
The first part is in Finnish and below is the same in English. In Finnish it's 88 words, in English 116, together they're 204. I think I'll keep both. I'm thinking, perhaps I'll first write in Finnish so I know what's going on better, and I can get inside their minds better, and then translate all that to English, so it's still readable, and keep both because I'm getting desperate. 10,000 words late soon. :(

That's Rosalie dreaming by the way. After this she gets woken up and one of my favorite scenes follows. Jonathan is being such a bas- rascal. ^^ I've been waiting for this one. I wish I was more excited actually. But I'll get this story done, I will.

I must. *grim detemination* ... *or something*

EDIT: And I've ran myself into a problem. There's not really any good substitute for 'lady' in Finnish. How is everyone going to speak to her? I don't want to say 'rouva', that's too.. old for her. She's not even 16 yet, dammit. 'Neiti' isn't very good either, it's too common. 's just 'miss'... Ylhäisyys, maybe. :\

Okay, maybe if I tried explaining it and breaking it down. That always ruins the joke, but somehow I doubt there's many people left here who'd understand what it was about anyway.

My point: there has been lots of spamming this past month. I did not at any point claim nothing good was posted. Just that there was a lot of spam. Perhaps more than usual for a very long while. Do we agree?

Another point: the attitude towards spam this past month has been lax. It's been a source of joke, even. "To spam!" Now, community-wise, it's perfectly acceptable to joke about it since everyone else is doing it. This is conforming. If one were to joke about spam in a negative way instead, the community will turn against you for not conforming. (count so far: 3, possibly more)

Yet another point: personally I feel it's a shame there are so many topics with so many pointless one-liner posts, most of which don't really contribute much in any way. Sure, it's fun and increases one's post count, but ... it's spam. As a frequent lurker, this quite obviously is not something I prefer.

This leads to: a joke post. So, the humour on it seems to be lost. I know, I have a very strange sense of humour. It's part of being Finnish, most often. We're a damned special bunch of people.

And last: I do not mean to insult anyone personally, nor flame. Unless you perhaps feel I have insulted the feelings of these very boards themselves, which would be quite a feat and I wouldn't mind putting that on my CV. You can quote me on that.

And I was only half serious with my previous posts, anyway. So, we good now?

Ah. Okay. Well.. I do have a second, a grand master plan that might cater to all of your tastes much better. It's pretty simple all in all. I heard from a very respectably oldbie that it's "a brilliant idea". I think we can all agree on that.

Okay, so hear me out here. I'll put it in three steps, which all relate to each other and basically mean the same thing and can be arranged in any order one may want.

Pretty good, huh? That way the boards are in like a read-only mode and no one can ruin their perfection in any way. Except they're not perfect. You know why? You just ruined them. Thanks a lot.

Being a mod doesn't excuse questionable behaviour, which includes spamming. Being an admin doesn't excuse it either, but makes it helluva lot easier to just brush off.

I guess these days the Code (seriously, that's a lot better way to put it, you pottymouths) doesn't really weight that much anymore. I am saddened.
