Speaking from a completely numbers based point of view, it's a lot more economical to kill off repeat murderers. Sometimes in the case of a net gain in lives, and it almost always saves money (if done quickly and with a minimal amount of money invested, say, a bullet.)

Of course, if you have any sort of heart at all (this includes Republicans,) you'd prefer a more…justice…ish way of administering…justice.

EDIT: And the idea that homosexuality was forbidden in order to keep the population from dying off is completely ridiculous. There wouldn't ever be enough of it to bring the population down to dangerous levels.

After reading news edit: So the law says he cannot deny the Holocaust. To me, an American, that sounds like a ban on free speech.

However, the law is intended to keep the truth the truth and to strongly protect it. Don't go all reletivism and say that we really don't know the truth, because that's retardation (in this case). Irving himself even admitted to the gas chambers' existance.

So, in conclusion, I'd say: he deserved it, because he knew better than to go into a country where he was banned from entering, that's just risky. I'm not saying he deserved it for his denial.

Time to delve into Leviticus, yay! (Or not yay, depending on whether you like boring yourself to death.)

Many people will claim that this means nothing anymore (in reference to the homosexuality argument), but they're absolutely wrong. The section that contains the many "thou shalt not's" (including thou shalt not lie as man with man, is it chapter 26? meh) is in there primarily to direct Hebrew behavior away from the practices of the Canaanite tribes around them. The people in and around Isrealite territory were doing everything that this section forbids, and A LOT OF IT (mention: sodom). The god who told them not to lie with the same sex and not to wear two different kinds of fabrics (anyone up for an interpetive investigation of the text around that verse?) is the same god who claimed to die as punishment for all our sins.

One thing I like to point out is that the "thou shalt not" forbidding homosexuality among men is the only "thou shalt not" (i think) that ends with "that is detestable". I find that humorous.

tThuryl and others: I said that statement about the Kurdish genocide wrong, I suppose. What I was wishing was that the world had acted faster when it did happen back in the 1980s.

About the God discussion: I can't see all of it, (due to a campus blocker that blocks the STRANGEST things), but it looks like TM's a bigot towards bigots and also towards non-bigots.

Not hard when I have a walkthrough, a party that's gone through it once, and…okay no I don't have the time. Oh, I suppose I MIGHT have the time, because the emulator I use has a rewind function that I've never used…never ever.

And I've looked at a spoiler for all the different endings…I know, I'm lame. Yay.

EDIT: I was kinda hoping some of the newer members were familiar enough with their heritage to contribute to this conversation. Shows what I get for having high expectations for youth :P .

I eat in excess of 3500 calories a day, and I'm 5'11" and 150 lbs (that's like 75kg, about).

I never got very far into AtG. Or any of *i's scenarios for that matter. I know they're good, I just can't bring myself to do it. AtG was…I don't remember. I got past the first or second ogre mission I think, but I may have gotten lost after that, with respect to plot or no plot. Dag. Same deal with Spears.

I just recently got into Chrono Trigger. Spent so much time beating it in the last couple of days. I feel so empty now, because I've beat it twice and it doesn't feel like there's any more to do. (Cept maybe the New Game+ option.)

Clashing ideologies? The only clashes I see are between the "liberal" west and the "conservative" west and the middle east/SEast asia with all of the West. "Conservatives" actually can hold similar values to the mid east, other than the fact that they believe that America is better than everybody and that they hate Islam in any form. Sad fact, that.
