Yes, you need move mountains. Just because magic is outlawed on Hollis Island doesn't mean you can't use it, you're simply visitors there. And on top of that, it's an emergency.

In fact, magic is quite necessary for this entire scenario…

I don't believe you do (or I haven't been able to, or haven't tried). And talking to Frank Twinsen doesn't give you ALL the names, does it? I thought it only gave you the name of one guy in the same town.

We're assuming that RI invented the beasts, as well as creating them. She most certainly did create them, but there's no record of her thinking them up by herself.

And who says that the two beasts are of the same type? Aren't their stats edited for VoDT?

So it is possible that Erika got sent down about the time of the school closing, eh? Makes sense that a lot of wizards got sent down for opposing the restriction of magic and knowledge.

Your Postliness: I meant a sighting as far as the title itself goes. But I may be wrong.

There's no record of when VoDT takes place anyway…

It's quite possible that Erika got involved in the closing of the school…oh wait. I was thinking that maybe the school closing was the issue she got sent down on, but then I remembered that it has a record of A)when it was closed and B)the Emperor that closed it, so that can't be.

Maybe Jeff just put it there to make us ask questions :P .

BTW, we finally have a sighting of YOUR POSTLINESS!!!

Maybe I should do that, so my website actually has a use…

Or perhaps join all the games that Spidweb distributes and hosts and such, but didn't really create into one board, and have a very strict mod to keep it from going to Misc.

I would be happy to mod :P , as if.

That's something like Canada and the US put together, right (sorry, don't know Canada's pop)?

In any case, China also has a severe AIDS problem now, and the govt has been covering it up for the most part, at the local govt level. Russia and the rest of Asia are very possibly on the verge of an AIDS epidemic as well.

Ooh, how fun! But Jeff, I'm still stuck in the Kuntalass Hideout. I'm able to get to the Chief, but the Archmagi kill me. And that's after losing a PC to the High Priests that appeared (that loss wasn't necassary though, I could have avoided it w/potions).

I think I'm just going to web as soon as I open the Chief's door, and then see if I can't pull the lever w/out them seeing me…

Shame on you Terry! :P

First time I played, the first barrier in Part 1 wiped out 5 of 6 party members, because I didn't go for the sidequests (and I used the PC editor a little.) Last time I played though, I had Part 2 and pretty much got my butt kicked by the golems near the end, got a look at what the final fights were, and ran like a kitten.

This time I'm going to do even the sidequests in Part 2, see if I can make it.

Of course, Part 2 isn't even out yet, so I probably shouldn't be talking about it TOO much.

And then again, some of us beta-testers find ourselves making stupid choices, such as charging into the slith hideout w/out fire barrier. :P

As far as I know, there's a round of beta testers either done or getting it done ASAP, and I think I'm somewhere inbetween two rounds of betatesters.

That's because you're Imban. :)

I usually have my fighters start w/about 18 hp, more if I have a skill point that isn't going to be used anyplace else (like throwing stuff.)

My mages usually have around 10-12, sometimes even 14 if I'm feeling wimpy.

Many of those "stories" are proved to have been true through archeology, but that doesn't matter much.

Beyond the history books, stuff like Proverbs and the books around there are still relevent today, and we still see consequences that it warns of. Even if it is just too general to not be true.

And the Socialism of the early church can't hurt anything either :D .

"Scary Movie" type scenarios just haven't worked much before, and (believe me, I tried to make one or two myself) it's going to be hard to be motivated to finish w/no real plot or story.

But go for it, we've had one or two make it (see Farmhands!!!) and give us many many laughs.

It's more than just "a story." It chronicles much of what happened in the MidEast before Mohommed came along. Countless archeological digs have backed up what it says. All the -ites really did exist, Isreal really did take the land away from the natives, there was a civil war, it was conquered by Babylon, Persia, and then Alexander t G. Many parts of the old testement are written as a record (hint: CHRONICLES, not stories) and the writers sure thought that's what happened.

Quite true. I would guess that the old testement/older stuff was kept sacred and memorized and such (much like the bible is today) and written down w/a million copies (Torah). The new testement actually has copies (don't want to research now) from around before 300, but it doesn't matter.

In any case, I find that the bible (esp. Proverbs, Ecclezeastees, and Song of Songs) has quite useful advice for pretty much everyone, as well as some amazing love poetry. And yes, it really is all about love and sex between a man and his wife. :P

AFTER: The hell with that, a good chunk of it is prophecy, take another look.

ARE NOT: Bull, it's quite a good history source, and probably the only one we have regarding MidEast history. Just look at the Hittite thingy.

"APOSTHOLS": Can you prove that?

We take works by Plato, Aristotle, and whoever else, and say that without a doubt, this was by Plato, even when there's only like four original copies, from that time period.

Most biblical scriptures have far more copies, yet are still debated as "who wrote this when."

And as for accuracy, take the test of putting two manuscripts side by side, from 1000 years apart, (same passage in the bible) and compare them. They were found to be like 99-95 percent accurate. What I'm trying to say is, the monks and such who devoted their lives to copying the bible didn't cut corners, they did it as perfect as their human hands could.

I'm going to start w/the assumption that God/a god exists.

Assuming he does, and that we were created by him, we now wonder how we were created. To me, I don't really care how, we just were. There's the theory that God/a god designed everything to evolve and work it's way out from millions of years ago, translating the Hebrew in Genesis differently, and there's also the 7-day theory.

Either way, I'm assuming we were created. Now this supernatural God decided that we'd be able to make choices for ourselves, to choose whether or not to do this or that. He told us not to eat a certain fruit from a particular tree. And big bad Satan comes along, after being cast out from heaven for feeling himself greater than God, perhaps, and tells us that we'll know a lot more once we eat this fruit. And, strictly speaking, he was right. Now we know pain and suffering, now we know death and sickness and destruction. Perhaps God had already experianced it, and therefore "knew" it? Was forbidding the fruit his way of telling us not to kill each other, not to cause pain and suffering? I don't know.

Either way, all his commandments have centered around the one basic command: Love all. Now, when applied to homosexuality, this means that if two men truely love each other, that might be alright. But if men just do it for pleasure, or to be different, or for whatever else reason, then it would be wrong.

That's how I feel about it. If it's actually loving your "husband" then it might be alright.
