Before this topic gets the gun of topic death, I would like to mention that I was baptized, apparently at the request (read: insistence) of my Catholic grandmother. I am a firm atheist, and have grown up in an atheist household (which rather upsets my grandmother).

This topic just keeps getting funnier and funnier!

FB, your appallingly empty threats are almost as hilarious as Lone Flame's.

And the thing about a TV chanal was sarcasm, just ignore it.

Thanks everybody, that's the picture! How silly of me not to look in the Summer Movie Threat topic. It seems like the logical place to look now.

Um, I thought one of them in A2 said that they didn't even have the physical strength of humans and had to rely on their magic (probably blessing and shielding) in melee combat.

Someone recently posted a really funny picture titled "Scorpius Reloaded" which I wanted to show to my friend. I looked around but couldn't find it. Does anybody remember which topic it's in, and if it's still around? The picture was of scorp's alleged self portrait on Neo's body, in front of a background of green dancing bananas.

If you happen to know where it is, please tell me. Thanks.

Um, yeah... Anyway...
I had some sort of ground meat dish with potatoes which is supposedly an "authentic recipe from India." As far as I know, only the spices were Indian.

That would be a case of what I like to call an ideal situation. Perfect once it happens, but unfortunately impossible to get to. But if this situation did occur, then there would be no guns even for the terrorists to have.

There would still be other things with which to cause terror. You couldn't get very far in highway construction without explosives. And without guns to stop them, anyone could just walk into a building and mine the place. They wouldn't even have to be suicide bombers.

IC: While out lizard hunting, Sodium Cyanide accidentally walks through another portal. It transports him to the Restaurant at the End of the Universe, thus removing him from this sucky RP before it has rightfully begun and providing a night's entertainment at the same time.

Goodbye everyone. I may return at a later time if things get a little less lame.

The only way to keep assault weapons off the black market would be to ban them world-wide. Of course, that wouldn't work because country X would break the ban and start making them. Then everyone else would have to start making their own assault weapons again, or submit to country X.

OOC: All in favor of saving this RP from being consigned to perdition? Good. Lets start by ignoring FB until he stops acting like a [edited for people like Linda] and bringing in massive NPC armies to control the alleged plot.

Basically, lets try for some actual roleplaying. Lets also try not to make everything too overpowered. I would prefer not to have to make an assload of my futuristic weapons fall through holes in the fabric of space-time just to keep up with the rest of the RP.

IC: After fashioning a crude sling from materials in his pocket, Sodium Cyanide heads off to gather dried-up giant mushrooms for fuel and hunt giant lizards for food.

EDIT: OOC: Lone Flame, Ryan was a great character. Why don't you just say he suddenly falls through another time-warp? It happens in sci-fi stories all the time (well, not qutie, but I'm sure you get the idea).

Sodium Cyanide approaches Claymore.
"Dude," he says, "so those runes are, like, a totally powerful version of the ones on my crowbar, huh?"

Claymore: "It is not a comparison I like to make, but I understand what you mean. While my runes harness immense magical power, your runes simply render your crowbar nearly indestructible. Not only are the levels of power extremely far spaced, they derive their power from completely different sources. I doubt you would understand, so I won't go into details unless you insist."

NaCN: "Um, that's quite alright. Anyway, I didn't do these runes myself. They were added by the dwarven smith who forged it."

NaCN considered approaching the vahnatai, but thought better of it. From what he remembered, they could hear very well. He crouched behind a bolder and watched from a distance. The vahnatai appeared to be lost, or at least disoriented.

IC:
"Emergency evacuation teleporter activation sequence commencing," the metallic computer voice spoke over the roar of automatic weapons fire and ship-systems exploding.

Sodium Cyanide stood on the ruined bridge, behind a shattered control consol and the corpses of several ex-crewmen who had already been slain by the alien attackers.

Sub-machine gun in hand, he opened fire on the insectoid terrors which swarmed the door in front of him.

"Evacuation teleporter activating in ten seconds... mark." the ship's mainframe announced in it's usual calm, metallic voice.

A beam of focused microwaves hit the consol, narrowly missing Sodium Cyanide and leaving a molten dent in the enhanced steel.

NaCN emptied another clip down the hallway.

"Evacuation teleporter activating in 5 seconds... mark."

More MASER beams, more 9mm bullets...

"Evacuation teleporter activated."

Sodium Cyanide dashed towards the glowing ellipse which had opened in the air behind him.
A MASER beam scorched the air, not more than an inch from his shoulder. He turned just in time to block a second beam with his gun. In a fraction of a second, he had dropped the now-useless weapon and jumped through the portal.

He lost consciousness.

When he recovered he was in the dark. The air was perfectly still. 'Like a cave' he thought. His eyes soon adjusted to the dark and he discovered that there was some light. It filtered down from what looked quite convincingly like a cavern ceiling. Bioluminescent bacteria.
"Where the *%#& am I?" he said to himself.

OOC: I guess it's pretty obvious, NaCN was on a starship and used an emergency teleporter to escape from aliens after the rest of the crew had perished. Those of you who have read Restaurant at the End of the Universe should know that such things are very unpredictable. Anyway, it has sent him to Avernum, about when and where the party should be coming. With any luck, they'll soon find him.

About my character:
Sodium Cyanide has his crowbar, his bowie knife, a singed uniform, and futuristic cigaret lighter type of thing. He can pack quite a blow with his crowbar or other bashing weapon, but his main strength lies in pistols and machine guns. Since there aren't any down here, he will have to learn to use something else. As usual, he tends to be kind of noisy when he isn't working very hard at not being heard or seen. He is prone to loudly swearing at his enemies, wether this is a good idea or not. He is the sort who would rather kick a door down than pick the lock (partly because he can't pick very advanced locks).

Thank you, that was most kind.

Anyway, now that I spent the last 6+ month's income on a nice digital camera I am starting to run out of excuses for not having a good profile picture.

True, it is much more difficult for Mr. Joe Nota Machinist to grow guns that to grow weed. Still, it's not that hard to smuggle stuff.
