i've not been reading these boards for long and have been a member of this great forum for a much shorther time, but during this time, (which is like a month), I have seen too many people change their name too many times. Best example is TGM, who has had a different name every couple of days. My question is why? Why change the name, (and i mean change completely, not just adding or removing parts), when the same account is used, the member # stays the same, and the title is the same (only matters for people with custom titles)? why? why? why? why? This is in no way meant to be spamful, it's just a topic about some peoples' weird ways. Is it just me or has this topic sparked an epidemic of name-changing? The first two people to reply have both changed their names. -------------------- I believe there are 15 747 724 136 275 002 577 105 653 961 181 555 468 044 717 914 527 116 709 366 231 425 076 185 631 031 296 protons in the universe, and the same number of electrons. -- Sir Arthur Eddington Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

I change my name when I get bored with the last one. That's all there is to it. I keep my "official" name in my sig so most people don't get confused. -------------------- ~ §øСüm ©ÿªñ¡Ðë ~ Mission Ridge -- All Your Snow Are Belong to Us. Posts: 1277 | Registered: Monday, June 24 2002 07:00 |

The name changes are quite annoying. I remember some people by their member numbers and locations, a few by the signatures that they keep (like NaCN), and many by liberally abusing my moderatorial ability to see login names. —Alorael, who thinks a rule mandating titles with names, or at least some form of identification, might not be such a bad idea for frequent name-changers. If TGM and TM got it, others could benefit as well. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

I change my name whenever I get bored with the old one, as Sodium Cyanide said. I'll be changing it again as soon as I think up a better one. I always keep the Scythe warning in my sig, though, which makes me identifiable. -------------------- "Man hands down misery to man. It deepens like a coastal shelf. I rather think its a sort of test. When you first come here, everybody's calling Little Miss Agoraphobia RoR and some guy whose name is unidentifiable TGM and el presidente Alec. If you can cope with the insanity without getting a personality crisis, you stay on past the first two months. EDIT: lyricsbylaura@angelfire.com I change my name for profit. I change my name for fun. I change my name because I am never 'one'. I ride the wave of the populists And change myself to fit the trend. I cross out, erase, YEAH BABY I'm always getting bent. Can you trust me? Do you know who I am? Can you trust me? Do you know who I am? (Repeat x 10) I have sixteen accounts Do you know who they are? And if you don't, don't matter BAY-BEE, hop right in the car! It's a limo. It's a bandwagon. CHANGING NAMES! ~Rosy [ Friday, May 23, 2003 15:42: Message edited by: Roh Zee Kat ] -------------------- Aces off. Yeah, I think that when someone changes they're name they should at least keep their profile the same. That won't help newbies, but hey... what Rosy said. -------------------- And though the musicians would die, the music would live on in the imaginations of all who heard it. -The Last Pendragon TEH CONSPIRACY IZ ALL Les forum de la chance.
