On the four Blades of Avernum scenarios how many TOTAL Nature Lore and Arcane Lore are needed?

e.g. in VoDT - how many Nature Lore and Arcane Lore are needed to get the most of the scenario
in Rebellion, Zakhazi-run, etc.

In the Northwest of Experiment Halls, there's a blocked portcullis? How do I raise them. I pulled two levers on this area but nothing happens?

Where is this mining scroll located? I can't find it. Is it blocked by a glowing portcullis somewhere in the school?

I see. How about Spell points, does it end up the same amount no matter when I increase my Magic skills or Intelligence?

Question about Endurance in Blades of Avernum
Warrior

Is there any advantage of not increasing Endurance until very high levels (let's say lvl 30)?

For example on lvl 1, I have a 5 Endurance. On level 11, it has 44 HP. And then I increase it to 10 Endurance. How many HP will I get?

Or I'm on lvl 1, but i increase endurance to 10. After level 11, how many HP will I get?

So the question is, do I get more HP if I increase Endurance on high levels?

All of your monitors are TFT (not CRT). Mine is 15" CRT. TFT monitors tends to be sharper and crisper. 15" CRT gets blurred when running at high resolution.

15 inch 17 inch monitor in Avernum 4

Are all of you A4 users use 17 inch CRT monitor. I only have 15inch monitor and it's sooo tiny and hurting in the eyes. Only the texts are my problem. They are hard to read because they're small.

Is there any workaround to make them a little bit larger using 15" CRT monitor? Or any programs that will enlarge only the texts?

I was expecting to have at least a thousand respondent but only got 3. How come?

To Robert, sorry I had given the first respondent Avernum 4. But wait, I have another offer for those living in America only. You are in Canada I guess. If so,you can help me with this simple problem, then, I can let you have Avernum 4. Or maybe an additional spiderweb game of choice. If you are interested, mail me killua_zordik04@yahoo.com

No. I won't donate the 100$. That's mine :D I can only afford to donate a spiderweb game and for one person only. Also, why would they suspect me as a scammer?

BTW, I received a notification that someone sent me a Private Message. He wanted me to give him the free A4 but how do I access my private messages here? Please do not PM me. Send me an email killua_zordik04@yahoo.com instead for those interested.

I already know how I can do it the easiest way.

Hello all Avernum fans. I got an extra 100US dollars given to me by a friend. Why? because I referred him the Avernum series. He likes it very much and gave me money for knowing it.

I don't like to feel selfish so instead of keeping the money, I like to give someone here on this forum free Avernum 4. Is this prohibited?

So how do I proceed. How can I give someone free on this forum?

Me too. That's my problem. Although I found my another 15inch monitor can display 1024x768 85Hz with no problem, the text are harder to read. Everything are too small.

It's big mistake Jeff changed the resolution on his newest games. He should understand that 15inch monitors are standard just few years ago and it's still selling like hotcakes as of now.

Avernum 4 Resolution Requirements in Avernum 4

I just notice that my 6-year old MiTAC monitor can also handle 1280x.... resolution similar to the ViewSonic you mentioned and it did can display 1024x768 at 85Hz. Thank goodness.

But there's seem to be a problem. Desktop texts are very small and blurred on my 15inch monitor running 1024x768. Will I experience text blurredness when A4 for Windows comes out?

Avernum 4 Resolution Requirements in Avernum 4

I tried what Tyranicus said but it reverts back to 60Hz after 15seconds. I tried checking the newest Samsung 15inch CRT monitors but all of them can only handle up to 68Hz in 1024x768 resolution (unless they are 17inch monitors). And I cannot afford to buy 17inch monitors because of high electric bills.

Also, A4 for Windows is not out yet so I can't test it. But I tried running Geneforge 3 on 60Hz, it works fine, the graphics are OK but I get headache if I read many texts.

Is there a workaround or is there a software that can convert a game's resolution to lower resolution?

I have a 15inch LG Studioworks 552V monitor. I bought it on 2002 (brandnew) so I think it's a 2001 model. I don't know if this monitor is capable of running at a higher Hz. On the manual it says:

VESA/60 = 1024x768 = 48.36kHz (horizontal frequency) = 60Hz (Vertical frequency)

It also states that the Max. Resolution is 1024x768.

Is there something I don't understand? Or can you please check for me if this LG Studioworks 552V can run 1024x768 at 75Hz?

I'm running Windows XP with a 15inch monitor. I'm currently running at 800x600 resolution and I played Avernum and Geneforge Series successfully with this resolution. Now, in Avernum 4, I saw the requirements are 1024x768. Now, the problem is my monitor is capable of 1024x768 BUT can only run at 60hz compare to 800x600 which can run at 85hz.

60hz is quite hurting in the eyes. My question is, will Avernum 4 still run at 800x600?

I am playing as a shaper. I like to increase my "chance to hit". What do you think is more skill points-wise to spend, dexterity or missile weapons skill?

Both of them increases "hit chance" but I don't know how many percent. I can see that missile weapons increases 5% chance to hit, but how about dexterity?
