When there's nobody else left you win. Any interesting drops in the destruction of the camps, Dillame, and Rivergate Keep?

Random, there haven't been any worthy drops by anyone Valeta has been mopping up lately. It's been very disappointing. The only mildly interesting thing that comes to mind is this:

Polychromous Girdle — Shaper Danell (kill) — Aziraph Camp Gamma-E — +6% Armor / +10% Energy Resistance / +10% Fire Resistance / +10% Cold Resistance

For the critics of the admittedly odious strategy and loyalty (or lack thereof) I am employing, keep in mind that this story represents two things. Firstly, it is an attempt to utterly maximize Experience Points and Levels attained, along with the ability to do and acquire everything possible in the game. Secondly, it is telling the resulting story from the experiences. It is going somewhere very intentional, even if there are unpleasant consequences.

Yeah, Val's looking obnoxious and homicidal now, but it fits what I have her actually doing by necessity. This is not a moralistic tale about loyalties or typical game strategy. It will be a moralistic tale from an extreme angle by the time it is done.

I will have commentary and conclusions to make at the end. This is not how I have played my other G4 games typically either, where I was more loyal to one cause. I am not proposing this style of game as a prefered or recommended arc for overall gaming satisfaction. This is a test. This is a test of the Emergency Broad Casting System. This is only a test.

More to come.

I like the story. Canisters aren't easy on the mind, and Synergy stated in his first post that Valeta was loyal only to herself.

You haven't wiped out the Safehouse yet, have you?

You know what...I think I forgot to have Val clear out the Safehouse, or else it was so uneventful, that I forgot about it...and I sure didn't document it. I did have her start in on the Barrier Zone areas, but those defenders don't offer any experience points, so why bother?

The greatest moral of the tale I am unfolding is that there is a terrible price to pay for canister indulgence. No way around it.

I know that you're attempting to roleplay a 'powergaming' character (sort of a paradox...). I don't have a problem with that. You can play the game any way you want, free country and all.

Personally, I don't find powergaming very enjoyable. It just strikes me as absurd to assist a general, and then stab him in the back to get his 20 gold pieces.

It's also very dangerous to harm both sides in a conflict, because you will end up with very few allies.

Of course, I'm not averse to helping the Shapers to gain their trust, and the occasional reward, as long as it doesn't harm the Rebellion. :D

quote:

Well, whatever you do, I doubt you'll choose the Shaper ending. That's bound for disaster.

They should have a 'special' ending for homicidal powergamers who release the Unbound. Possible endings include:

Scenario 1:

"The Unbound climb out of the vats. You look around for Drakons to control them, but unfortunately, you killed them all earlier. The Unbound tear you to pieces. The end."

Scenario 2:

"The Drakons release the Unbound, and scourge Shaper lands. You might have been elevated to a position of leadership, but you just happened to genocide the entire Rebellion. There's no-one for you to rule over.

Have a nice day!"

Actually, I can imagine Val going with the Shaper ending in a moment of lucidity, realizing the destruction she's brought forth and sacrificing her shattered life for the good of order, and as a final act of penance.

VALETA III Chapter Five—Part Thirteen: Who's Superstitious? (The Black Gate Opens)

Valeta trembles with excitement as she fits the black key to the lock of the doors she remembers finding so long ago in the deeps of Monarch's Realm. Her sources are correct. The key had been taken to Northforge, and she has brought it home. The gates groan balefully on their hinges as they sweep slowly open. The gates are massive, and far heavier than she would have ever guessed. What needs to be so tightly bottled up beyond them, she wonders?

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/01-MonarchsRealm.jpg)

The door leads to a nondescript hatch carved into the floor. A perilously steep and narrow stairway beneath leads her down, down, down into stale, murky depths. Scents and her senses tell her that she and her Ur-Drakon are not the only current occupants of this unknown place. She was counting on this, and would, in fact, have been sorely disappointed had it been otherwise.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/03-Slavemaster.jpg)

Venturing south, she quickly stumbles upon a crew of Servile Drones being driven by Beta Slavemasters. Apparently the news of their master's demise weeks ago has not penetrated to these deeps. They have continued to scrape and dig, subsisting on God knows what, awaiting further instructions from Monarch. Valeta wrinkles her nose in disgust and launches without mercy into these merciless taskmasters until there are no more. The Serviles continue to mill about mindlessly. They appear to be in shock, but maybe that's the difference between a Servile and a Servile Drone—almost complete mindlessness.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/05-slavemaster.jpg)

Valeta spots a shadowy, reptilian form in the southeastern corner. It speaks. It begs to be permitted to leave unmolested. It buys some time by surrendering its limited knowledge of this forsaken place, and hinting at a terrible creation beyond that even Monarch himself could not control or destroy, but banished to the confines of this prison for future twisting to serve his malevolent intent.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/06-TrythonontheTitan.jpg)

Valeta is far too paranoid at this point to permit Trython the Drayk to leave with the knowledge of her presence here. She gives Trython a quick and merciful finish. Nothing personal.

She ventures west by the south passage and soon encounters waves of Wingbolts. Each in turn dies quickly and efficiently before the relentless approach of her and 'er Ur.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/07-Wingbolt.jpg)

Valeta hits a bridge across the subterranean river. She feels an instinctive urge to explore on this side of the river further before crossing, and heads back north, where she is forced to contend with a few more tiresome Wingbolts.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/08-morewingbolts.jpg)

Here is another bridge. She ventures north a bit, once again, and finally encounters a third bridge. She cannot resist the lure now. She crosses. Her crossing does not pass uncontested.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/09-spawnedgamma.jpg)

This Battle Gamma has been spawned...but by what? It falls readily enough, but nastier foes swarm forth in its wake. Again the rots go for the Ur-Drakon, giving Valeta the opportunity to look her primary foe straight in the, er, eye.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/10-rots.jpg)

I am very near the end of this tale, and am attempting to get this wrapped soonest.

VALETA III Chapter Five—Part Thirteen B: Monarch's Rejects

Valeta continues her skirmishes in the Sealed Catacombs deep beneath Monarch's (former) Realm. Eye Mindtaker Fhonge guards the bridge off the island to the eastern part of the cavern. Another spawned Gamma joins the party.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/11-EyeMindtakerFhonge.jpg)

Valeta puts the blue Gamma to good use, charming him against the Eye.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/12-EyeDie.jpg)

Eye die, you die, everybody dies. Val ventures north on the island, only to encounter an infestation of Clawbugs of fourth Avernium proportions.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/13-Clawbugs.jpg)

Aura of Flames is especially delightful to employ in this application. Many a Stinging Clawbug and Clawbug Hatchling dies in a halo of fire. Valeta is burning through her Essence Pods on this excursion, but she has dozens she has been hoarding for just such a need. She has more than enough to spare and can spend her Battle Magic as extravagantly as she desires. The soothing sound of draining Essence Pods becomes a frequent companion to her in this woeful place.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/14-ClawbugsAura.jpg)

The queen is not so daunting at all on her own. Off with her head!

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/15-QueenDies.jpg)

The bug room thoroughly broiled, Valeta's curiosity is drawn to the northeastern chamber. She wants nothing sneaking up on her from behind as she ventures deeper into this perilous place, so she goes to investigate it next. Ooh—I mean, yawn—nasty specialized War Tralls.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/16-Tralls.jpg)

It turns out they are a trio, or rather, were a trio.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/17-Tralls.jpg)

Their graves will also make a nice arrangement in triplicate.

VALETA III Chapter Five—Part Thirteen C: Cleaning the Catacombs

Beyond the hapless War Tralls, Valeta spies the irridescent glow of another canister. It has been a little while since she glutted herself upon one of these. She is drawn irrepressibly forward. She can see that the setup is a trap, but her feet propel her forward, unwavering. She vacantly disarms one of the mine triggers, but cannot reach the other in time. Poof! An Eyebeast is born.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/19-EyebeastTrap.jpg)

An Eyebeast dies. Nothing gets between Valeta and a canister.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/20-EyebeastDies.jpg)

+1 to Dexterity is Val's reward. She's feeling a bit dodgier now. Time to finally cross over to the western side of the river and see what awaits her and her faithful pet there. Mines and more spawned Gammas, for starters.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/21-Gamma.jpg)

She sends her pet ahead to deal with pesky Wingbolts, while she cautiously disarms a cluster of mines blocking her advance, and scores a +1 Strength canister for her trouble. The rapid double-infusion of Strength and Dexterity together surge through her veins with a furious pulsation. Surely, she has become an invincible Warrior Goddess.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/22-Wingbolt.jpg)

Aha, they find the spawning control room, but are unable to shut off the devices fully yet. They venture further south in an attempt to resolve the issue. A trio of Exploding Kyshakks bars the way back to the riverbank.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/23-Kyshakks.jpg)

It's entertaining how they tend to die like dominos falling.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/24-KyDie.jpg)

The center Kyshakk drops a Golden Crystal. With these final banished creations out of the way, Valeta is able to access the rest of the controls, shutting off the spawners and opening the passage to a very dark corner in the SW...at the end of which lies a solitary doorway.

Val looks over her takings from the Catacombs. The Clawbug Queen dropped a Demon's Fang Talisman, which is nothing too exciting at this point. The Eye Mindtender dropped this Transference Suit.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/TransferenceSuit.jpg)

It might be of use to a Lifecrafter, but not much to Valeta. She'll take it along as a trophy though.

VALETA III Chapter Five—Part Fourteen: The Titan's Hall

The door grants Valeta and her pet entry to the hot, murky passageway beyond. The only thing Val can hear is the snorting breaths and heavy, padded footfalls of her lumbering companion.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/01-Entry.jpg)

It is quickly evident that they are not alone in here. In fact, before them appears the very fearsome creation the drayk had warned them about. The Titan is a massive golem, currently inert. Valeta decides to leave it unmolested for now, and explore around it first, if possible.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/02-TheTitan.jpg)

They haste and scurry through the central hall past the Titan without rousing it. But no sooner do they leave it behind in the shadows, than they bump into another contestant to their passing—the Northern Sentinel. This one is fully awake. So is Valeta, however, even if she is not exactly lucid. Wrack! Shackle! Ice!

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/04-NorthernSentinel.jpg)

The glorified rotghroth comes in for some close-up insults.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/05-NorthernSentinel.jpg)

Valeta is so heavily spined and Spine-Shielded that it does far more damage to itself in the attempt. Valeta compounds the damage with her retorts. It dies.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/06-NorthernSentinel.jpg)

It leaves a couple of summoned Exploding Roamers behind. Valeta and Drakon see to it that they both live up to their title...from a safe distance. Around the corner, Val finds a power spiral. Things always seem to go better for her when these things are turned off, so she makes that happen.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/07-powerdown.jpg)

Ooh, a treasure chest off in the corner of the northeast room. Val darts over and examines the emerald-hued band she finds within. Nevermind that a swarm of creepy-crawlies emerges from the limpid pool nearby when she does so.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/08-ShapersBoon.jpg)

Eh, this thing ain't so special. It's another one of those Lifecrafter-rewarding prizes that is scarcely worth the sacrifice of her Forbidden Band to employ. Another trinket for her trophy case.

VALETA III Chapter Five—Part Fourteen B: Circling the Prey

Aptly named Nightmare Worms advance, the apparent appointed defenders of The Ring.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/09-NightmareWorms.jpg)

As it turns out, Aura of Flames is not a particularly useful attack here. The worms are prey far more to simple physical damage...and they pack a nasty, acidic wallop, even if they do perish in suicide assaults against Val's bristling spines. Dazing is in order to save Val and Drakon from their ravages. After that, the worm pack whittles down easily at leisure.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/10-NightmareWorms.jpg)

They do not have time to get fully away before a second raft of these pesky worms appears. They are dispatched even more efficiently this time. Enough of this. Heading off to the northwest, Val encounters a pack of Furious Hellhounds, surrounded by acres of nasty Reaper Spinecores.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/11-FuriousHellhounds.jpg)

Aura of Flames flood forth from the heavens. One and all are burnt to a crisp in a solitary glorious burst. Supremely satisfying—unlike the Flames' recent frustrated unleashing upon the Nightmare Worms.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/12-FuriousHellhounds.jpg)

Hellhounds keep appearing around the corner. Eventually, they stop, and Val peeks around to see what's so special back there. Perhaps the Endurance canister they were guarding...the power...the power! For a moment she imagines the sensation of ingesting another gene-twisting canister has become dull and wearisome, but she pushes the foolish imagination from her thinking. She turns south now...bumping into, what else, but the Western Sentinel. Hmm, Val is beginning to see a pattern here.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/15-WesternSentinel.jpg)

This one too, falls with little ado, simply an adieu.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/16-WesternSentinel.jpg)

A large pack of Exploding Kyshakks is encountered guarding a +1 Intelligence canister in the southwest. The Drakon alone is effective in handling these while Valeta turns off a third power spiral, finding one at each corner of this cavern.

But swinging back to the east along the bottom passageway, Val and pet encounter something she senses is more of a threat. The Southern Sentinel is a powerful Ur-Drakon. This should be a match well met, at last.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/18-SouthernSentinel.jpg)

The Enslaved Cryodrayk lackeys do not Charm readily, but if they do not, at least they Daze. Val wants to focus all her lethality upon that Sentinel Drakon for now.

VALETA III Chapter Five—Part Fourteen C: OK, So This Is Not So Easy

The towering Drakon is no easy prey, unlike nearly everything Val has encountered for some time. It takes all she and her own Drakon can summon to stop him in his tracks. Slowing breath and multiple attacks per turn can be quickly lethal when backed by the drafty, blasty breaths of Cryodrayks and painful rocks of War Tralls. It may well have taken Valeta more than one attempt to get this contest right, but eventually, with the right use of Mass Madness and attacks going straight for the jugular, the big brute and his critter cadre all crumple. Oddly, it drops a Reaper Baton with its final breath.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/24-SouthernSentinel.jpg)

There is a fourth spiral just past, and this one has a formidable Mechanics requirement to disarm, but Val has enough at her disposal with her gear. She also helps herself to the free refreshments growing in the back passage.

Now she steels herself for the final confrontation with the sole surviving creation left in this chamber of horrors. The Titan must fall. Were it ever to escape, it would wreak untold havoc upon the surface dwellers. Besides, Valeta loves a good challenge to her imminent deification.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/21-TheTitan.jpg)

This contest proves to be much more challenging than the one she just completed against the Southern Sentinel. She is well enough able to slow and curse the Titan and whittle him down rapidly before he is scarcely able to repond.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/22-TheTitan.jpg)

But it is this second incarnation of the Titan which sends chills down Valeta's spine. Before her towers another Ur-Drakon with woeful capabilities for multiple slowing attacks.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/23-TheTitan.jpg)

Even worse, it summons hordes of Kyshakks in one round. Valeta is far put to it to keep on top of all the threats to her and her pet. Even with her Shackling and her Drakon's slowing blasts, the Titan Drakon is little slowed all in all. The most important thing is to get him whittled down as fast as possible.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/26-TheTitan.jpg)

Hard work and brutal battle magic pay off with some diligence. Finally, the Titan is reduced to a laughably vulnerable third form of a glorified Clawbug. It does not survive long after this transition. The final summons, a Glaahk, is quickly stamped out, and all falls silent. Motionless bodies steam on the floor. Blood drips and runs slowly outward in pools and rivulets.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/28-TheTitan.jpg)

Val examines the body of the Titan and finds that it has dropped two worthy items.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/29-PuresteelSoulblade.jpg)

The Soulblade would be nice for a Servile, perhaps, but it doesn't warrant the sacrifice of the Guardian Claymore. Val rarely uses melee, after all.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/30-Omnicharm.jpg)

The Omnicharm, however, speaks for itself. Val has added +2 to her four vital stats for having slogged through all the battles in these chambers below Monarch's Realm. Now that they are thoroughly cleansed of his infection, Val is free to return to the daylit world. She can't do this soon enough. She leaves everything behind except the prize items. Long has she had nothing to buy or sell.

VALETA III Chapter Five—Part Fifteen: The Loose Ends Before The End

Val, the grim victor, and her battered Drakon blink painfully in the blinding sunlight when they reemerge into the green lands above Monarch's Realm. There is a still a dim fogginess in her head though, and this she cannot shake.

Though it serves her no useful purpose, Valeta utilizes the Purified Essence she gleaned from the lab in the Sealed Catacombs. It feels good to forge one last new and special thing upon the Valeja anvil. The town is forlorn in its stillness though. In fact, nearly everywhere she goes now has been silenced thanks to her. Valeta realizes how lonely she has become in this world.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/31-ImperviousCape.jpg)

Her distractions are almost wholly removed now. She remembers her mission to investigate the disturbance in the Northforge Warrens. She finds it—Alwan and his party of infiltrating Shapers, preparing to attack the Citadel. It is not because she opposes their plan, but because she despises their iron rule and their use of her, that Valeta follows through on what she began when she executed Miranda in the Warrens. It is out of spite that they must fall.

The battle is brutal. Val runs into the corner of Alwan's quarters where the sabotaged pylons can scarcely damage her. She has the Drakon stay back to lob fire at the defending thornflingers and the like. Sadly, Valeta's faithful companion of many an adventure falls here to the lethal storm of Wingbolts, Tralls, warriors, and dangerously discharging pylons. It is a noble sacrifice which buys Valeta just enough time to gain the upper hand against Alwan in her mortal combat with him.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/02-Alwan.jpg)

She barely feels any satisfaction at the dispatching of Alwan, but she feels justified. She takes a moment to acknowledge the passing of her worthy Drakon servant, then slips out of the warrens, in which no one is left alive but herself. Valeta stashes the Impervious Cape along with her many other memorials and trinkets at the east gate of Derenton Freehold. She contemplates the dangerous undertakings the rebels here thrust upon her, to little real reward or acclaim. She ponders the dangerous alliance these rebels have foolishly been forging with the insane Drakons and their Unbound experiment. Then she thinks no more. She acts. The Turrets outside the gates perish in a burst of flame. The town goes hostile.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/01-DerentonFreehold.jpg)

This camp and its sadly deluded leader, Litalia, must not survive.
Valeta carves her way inside and wages a lengthy battle from a fortified position by the restoring pools. The floor runs red with blood as many guardians and would-be defenders of the camp rush in to take her on.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/02-DerentonFreehold.jpg)

When the influx stops, she winds her way inside to tackle Litalia herself.

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/03-DerentonFreehold.jpg)

Litalia and her scrappy minions all fall. Valeta has created a final ghost town.

Val sits down on the grass and ponders the sad world she finds herself in. So few to be trusted. So few with any clarity or wisdom. She feels her own grip on clarity and wisdom growing fuzzy as she attempts to congeal the thoughts in her mind. She experiences a moment of doubt, but pushes it aside. Only one task remains. She senses it could well be her last action, but she has resolved what she must do.

NEXT: What She Does

Did you do it before finishing Chapter 4? Because that would be why.

I am eagerly awaiting the ending. I think Val has gone mad and the unbound will be released.

Canisteroid rage. All must perish.

VALETA III Chapter Five—Part Sixteen: And So It Ends

Yes, there really is a promised end to this sordid tale, months after undertaking this now deliciously, but absurdly bloated account of an Insidious Infiltrator. Does it end with a bang? A whimper? Both? Neither? Let us proceed to find out.

Valeta feels numb inside, but she is now resolved to her choice and whatever her resulting fate (and the fate of everyone else) will be. She returns to the Inner Shaping Halls of Northforge CItadel and informs the Drakons that she has successfully obliterated the invading Shapers in the Northforge Warrens. She does not bother to inform them that they sadly claimed the life of her Drakon creation in the process. So many Drakons have died because of her, one way or another.

Akhari Blaze presumptively instructs Valeta in finishing the processing of the Unbound and releasing them. Valeta contains her repulsion at the arrogance this Drakon is dishing her. She's used to this treatment by now. She acts according to his wishes...or so it appears. No one seems concerned when she first excuses herself to turn off the field protecting the control board for the energy streams to the incubators. No one seems to notice when she examines those controls and may...or may not...make an adjustement after what seems like a very long pause.

She marvels at the degree of trust and power being put into her hands. The choice is hers. The future of Terrestria lies before her in a swirling vision. She tries not to revel too long in the feeling of godlikeness. But she does wear a grim smile as she returns to the main control panel before Akhari, Greta, and the other Drakons. She presses the button which completes the final flow of energy to the Unbound. She stands back and watches silently as the consequences of her actions begin to unfurl.

Yes, she has become Saboteur. Valeta has sent an amplified surge of energy to the incubator machinery. Valeta cannot stand to see the world shifted merely from under the heel of the Shapers' boots to the underside of scaly Drakon feet. In a gutsy move of subtle defiance, she has done what she believes may prevent anyone from triumphing in this struggle. She feels bad for the Trakovites of whom she helped to dispose. Her sympathies lie with them, she has come to conclude. There is no more powerful, or sorrowful teacher than experience. In brief moments of clarity, she realizes she wishes she had never tasted of the Geneforge or the many canisters which have forever adulterated her being. She may feel godlike, but she recognizes that she is not quite immortal.

Oh, what a pity. Valeta was a Trakovite. Idiot.

Valeta considers her sacrifice noble on behalf of the underdogs of Terrestria who will benefit in the long run from her deeds. It all went so murky and astray, but in the end, the powers that twisted her she used in one final act of defiance and remedy for the average woman and man and child and non-created pet and domesticated beast. The whispered gratitude she received was all she needed to confirm her choice. And so she relinquishes her soul to the unknown, her life spent of its purpose.

—THE END—

IMAGE(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/synergy67/Endinventory.jpg)

VALETA'S ENDING GEAR:
---------------------------

Forbidden Band— + 1 Strength / +1 Dexterity / +1 Intelligence / +1 Endurance

Guardian Claymore — +11-55 Damage / +2 Strength / +2 Quick Action / +2 Strength Of Creations

Girdle of Genius — +6% Armor / +2 Intelligence / +2 Intelligence Creations

Shaper Trueweave — +20% Armor / +2 Strength Creatons / +2 Dexterity Creatons / +10% Hostile Effects Resistance Creations

Agent Cloak (which, as I mentioned was a mistake, failing to implement the Cloak of the Shadows for the extra AP)

Puresteel Necklace — +6% Armor / +1 Melee Weapons / +1 Battle Magic / +5% Energy Preservation

Stasis Shield — +15% Armor / -10% Hit Chance / +40% Stun Resistance / +40% Stun Resistance Creations / +20% Mind Resistance Creations

Lodestone Gauntlets — +9% Armor / -1 Strength / -1 Dexterity / +10% Hostile Effect Resistance / +4 Spellcraft

Flameweaver Greaves — +16% Armor / +2 Battle Magic / +2 Fire Shaping / +20% Cold Resistance

Quicksilver Sandals — +2% Armor / +1 Action Points / +1 Stealth

...

I can add the charms in later, if anyone is doing math with this. Note that there are four Mental Focus Charms. :)

Conclusion: A ferociously powerful build. This degree of extremism was not necessary. There were numerous times I wanted a couple more Strength, and I'd recommend being willing to throw a couple more at Strength earlier in the game. By endgame, as you see here, I don't want to be wearing all the Strength-Enhancing gear in order to carry myself around.

Valeta felt a bit vulnerable at certain points in this game. The stategy was stealth, careful picking off of individual or smaller groups of foes at times, lots of Mental Magic—which worked great, and strong offensive magic. The best defense was a strong offense all in all.

Note that I was able to make it not only to Level 45, but to Leve 46 killing everything. I am not sure if there is any possible way to get to Level 47. This was pretty optimized.

I still like the Infiltrator over the Servile for numerous reasons, but it's all about what kind of game you are in the mood to play. This game was very satisfying for me.

Comments and contentions welcome.

...

We here at Synergy Productions, Inc. hope that you enjoyed this neverending saga of The Insidious Infiltrator.

Are you kidding? There is no doubt that the Insidious Infiltrator would go Trakovite. When reading through, Valeta Blue always sympathizes with the Trakovites, except when Val kills them of course.

I mean, when Val didn't use a canister fso she could get a Trakovite quest, well, it was obvious.

EDIT: Forgot the italics
