Does anyone know if there is a way to make it so NPC's will react differently depending on what a person is wearing? For example, a person wearing pants could talk to people, a person without pants would be told to put on some pants. Any ideas? Posts: 60 | Registered: Sunday, September 19 2004 07:00 |

Squirrel, this is possible, but I suggest you find a different use for it. You would have to give the item a special class in the scenario script and then check for it with char_has_item_of_class_equip call. Check the item calls in the editor documentation appendix. However, this wouldn't work for items brought in from outside the scenario. I reiterate my request that you find a different use for this. Posts: 54 | Registered: Saturday, June 7 2003 07:00 |

Amusingly enough, one of Drizzt's BoE scenarios actually did this. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

Well, it's common RPG fodder. I know in NWN OC, people freak out if you wander around naked. "You must have the PLAGUE!!! HUAUGUAUGUAUGUAUBUAUHALBHGL" It's cute. -------------------- I've got a pyg in a poke. Posts: 999 | Registered: Friday, June 27 2003 07:00 |

We need a laughing graemlin on here. Morrowind tends to be quite hilarious (well not really) when you run around naked. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

Just tell the party that they must wear pants from your scenario in your scenario. If you're feeling particularly generous, allow them to store their "artifact" pants somewhere. -------------------- * Posts: 6936 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

For the iterate/reiterate problem, dictionary.com proves them to be total synonyms. The former (iterate), appears the older version. Therefore reiterate is the prefered choice. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

Jeez, you lot read dictionaries? Anyway, by setting pants to have a item_class of, say 3, you can script to check whether or not they have them equiped. You'lll have to check each person independantly though... [ Tuesday, September 21, 2004 23:44: Message edited by: SupaNik ] -------------------- And when you want to Live How do you start? Actually, iteration and reiteration are related, but different words. Iterations are used in statistics and have a specific technical meaning. It does not have to be a repeating of something, as the first iteration of a series is not a repeating of a procedure. The iterations which follow are repetitions of the same process, but give different results. It is also used as a noun. William Gibson uses the word and concept in The Difference Engine as a fundamental part of the story structure. Reiteration is strictly a verb and does see common usage outside of the statistical world, where it does mean to repeat. And yes, I am being pedantic. If you decide to go for the no pants thing, remember that a cloak would cover things well, so you may need to build that in. While the idea may already occur in Morrowwind, do not let that stop you if you have a good way of linking it to your scenario. Posts: 6 | Registered: Sunday, July 25 2004 07:00 |

It is possible to do so, since robes go in the chest armor slot and pants go in the, er, pants slot. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Hadn't thought about it, but a good idea, I might implement it if I don't get too sidetracked with my Vahnatai scenario to complete my Empirical one. Posts: 60 | Registered: Sunday, September 19 2004 07:00 |
