Yup, it's another beta testing opportunity. Here's the deal: I'm not completely finished with alpha testing, but I'm pretty close. I'm going out of town on Wednesday, and I expect to be done with alpha testing right before then, so I'd like some beta testers so that I can send it out right then without having to wait until I get back. I may not finish alpha by then, and if I don't, don't kill me. I'll be back in about a week, and I'll finish and send it out within a day or two after that. I'd like to run two rounds of beta, so you can continue to sign up even if I've already sent out the first beta version. The scenario is medium-length, with twenty-three towns and no real outdoors. It's intended for approximately level 40 parties, and, as always, if you don't have one of those lying around, you can use the HLPM to make one. To sign up for testing, post a completed form: Name by which you would like to be referred when I list my beta testers in the readme: E-mail address: Beta-testing experience (none required): Operating system: What kind of party you intend to use (choose one): the one you used to beat DWtD, a HLPM-made one, one that has finished Canopy, other Again, expect the scenario on Wednesday. If I can't finish alpha testing by then, I'll post again and you'll get it a week after that. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Smoo: Get ready to face the walls! Ephesos: In conclusion, yarr. Progress update: things are going almost on schedule, so there's a very good chance that I will be done by tomorrow. If not, well, you'll have wait about a week. I just have to fix two beam puzzles — the frustrating thing is that the bugs are in BoA, not in my design — and run through it with a normal party, since I've been testing with a god party so far. If any of the combat is too badly out of whack, I'll muck with it until it's okay, and then it should be pretty much ready to get sent out. I want to do a round of beta, fix anything that the testers report, and then do another round of beta on the new version. Unless anyone has problems with this, the first and second rounds will go as follows. First round: TM Thuryl Boots Toast Benjamin Zxquez Taffer Second round: Timber-Wolf Slith Mako Eagle1 and anyone from the first round who wants to re-play it or anyone else who signs up later. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Intention double-post w00t! Okay, as of right now, I'm done. I didn't quite finish going through it with a normal party, but the question appears to be whether it is too easy, not whether it is too hard, so that shouldn't be a problem. I'm sending a .sit file with the .cmg graphics file to these people: TM, Thuryl, Boots, and Benjamin. I'm sending a .zip file with .bmp graphics files (which seem absurdly large in size — I hope I converted them properly) to these people: Toast, Zxquez, and Taffer. Feel free to use this thread to help each other with the scenario, although I'd like your final comments as e-mails. I will be able to check this thread every now and then while I'm gone. EDIT: I'll be around until tomorrow morning if anything should come up. It's turning weirder. This Pascal person starts openly with two accounts, claiming literally to be schizophrenic by nature ... I suppose, in this case the welcome-mantra from the sanity behind the door would be obsolet ^_^ -------------------- Slartucker: * facepalm facepalm facepalm * Dikiyoba: Are you unconscious yet?
