Especially considering he's been warned before. Multiple times. I'll bet he already has at least one black mark. And here we are posting on this thread. -------------------- -ben4808 Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

It pains me to drop this on a topic in such a wonderful forum as RWG has become, but it needs to be done: Verelor? Clue phone - it's for you. Posts: 2242 | Registered: Saturday, April 10 2004 07:00 |

That's a fantastic picture! But it leaves the question of: What the flippin' heck is thread locker? Some arcane piece of sewing equipment? Posts: 907 | Registered: Monday, July 15 2002 07:00 |

This little picture of the bolt and nut wasn't helpful enough? It's this blue gunk which bonds the two pieces together, making it more difficult for it to shake free. Very useful in scope mounts, engine pieces, and other thingies that have to absorb a tremendous amount of shock. *this message sponsored by the pneumatic air tool company* -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

I was, of course, respecting your noggin' when I posted before. The threads are the spiral groove cut into the end of the bolt/screw that match the nut being used. So, that blue stuff creates a high-friction environment in the threads of the bolt and nut when they are put together. This link makes what I said seem legit, but it also makes it very confusing. As a homeowner, I've become very familiar with bolts, lag screws, regular screws, plumbing, and anything else that has threads. The gf even has a sewing machine that uses even more threads. :P Edit - forgot to vote. Downright SPAM!!! but now we seem to have a real discussion. Oops. *this message sponsored by the 4.5" 3/8-32 carriage bolt* [ Tuesday, August 02, 2005 16:40: Message edited by: Jumpin' Salmon ] -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

A discussion. but its as good as the discussion I had with Eagle, the author lost soul, about chickens, which means this discussion is both stupid and really unnesecarry, but also of a high intelectual grade. That's the funny thing about the internet. A sixty-year-old can post about how confused they are about life, and a nine-year old can answer confidently with world-weary cynicism. And as long as the nine-year-old can spell, and the sixty-year-old can click, people won't think about their ages. These particular forums seem to have quite a good range of ages. Good spelling, and reasonable manners in general, are the internet analog of makeup or facial hair. They make you look a lot older. Regrettably, however, there is no good e-beer. -------------------- We're not doing cool. We're doing pretty. Posts: 3335 | Registered: Thursday, September 4 2003 07:00 |

You people perplex me. I'm threatened for posting nothing but now the topic is ok because people are posting nothing in a conversational way? For some godforsaken reason, this forum thread would've probably started perfectly legit if I posted a pic of a llama or a ferret and then said a phrase in bold psuedo german (like this: GIU HUOTAG NOOP MEEPLERS!? ) It may take me a while yet to "get" the RWG forum, as it's bizarre rulings are dictated by a false diety that formerly programmed mediocre games that ascended beyond the mortal realm. More than agreeably, what's spam here and what's an intelligent stupid comment teeters on a damn fine line. Posts: 131 | Registered: Wednesday, June 22 2005 07:00 |
