Since I have minimul knowledge of UBB scripting, I can't press the details, but I believe that showing the amount of times a topic has been viewed (that is, clicked on) would be a constructive addition to webboard quality.

Do I hear a seconde?

Yea that would be a good idea. Did you get that idea from any other boards?

I'd much rather have a thing saying who made the last post.

Or perhaps, even, if I dare to dream, both?

Features? From the UBB? You're kidding, right?

—Alorael, who would rather see a way to turn post counts off, or at least edit post counts. Maybe spammers would be less enthusiastic if they didn't get any obvious mark of "respect" for their behavior.

The setting of one's post count to 0 was a punishment for spammers on iB. It is impossible in UBB.

You could always give spammers the custom title 'apprentice'.

That would be great if it worked (which I guess it won't). Then I could get my post count back up to 406!

How come you need to get it back up? Your account deleted or something?

Anyway, those ideas sound pretty cool, but they'll never happen.

Where did the idea originate that a high post count is something to aspire to? It's quality, not quantity, people!

Well, people might value the opinions of people with high post counts more that they would of people who had low post counts.

Do you? I sure as heck don't. I don't even look at post numbers. I'll value your opinion if you make sense.
I'm more impressed by lower member numbers, since then at least you know they've been around longer and know more about what has transpired. That doesn't make them any smarter or insightful, though.

High post count may identify you as a spammer, not an experienced member. A newbie is best defined as someone who places much importance in post count.

I didn't really mean that I look at someone's post count and say "My, my, that person has a high post count. They must be important!". It's just that the members with high post counts are around more often and are probably more experienced.

It means that if they're still around they're not bad spammers, but acceptable spammers (we call them spammers but do little to stop them).

I forgot: I say "yes" to both.

There could be a top 100 member # that knows hardly anything about that stuff, and a newbie that knows a lot. Just cause their member # is high doesn't mean they don't know anything about these boards.

Basically, those numbers are just there for showing off to other people. High post counts, low member numbers, nice custom title, funny signature = cool. It doesn't make you smarter. Look at me, I got over 100 posts in slightly over a week. On another board at which I'm registered more than a month, I've got 50 posts. So there. Does it mean I'm smarter over here? No, it just means that over there I'm less incited to spam because post count doesn't matter as much. :P :P :P

Said member #2947 to member #2669 as members #147 and #165 laughed pityingly.
