That's because these topics usually don't contribute anything to nothing, they don't and won't have any future as a topic with reasonable and interesting discussions, and are, on the whole, utterly pointless. That, or they have simply served their purpose and don't need to exist anymore. Now, I wish you would just go, sit back and look around at this forum for just a tiny bit longer, and maybe you'll come up with such answers to your questions for yourself, so you won't have to make topics like these, that don't contribute anything to nothing, don't and won't have any future as a topic with reasonable and interesting discussions, and are, on the whole, utterly pointless. While most people would gladly hack off several limbs to earn a custom title, "Canned" is not usually one that is wanted. Now, I make as little sense as the next guy, but you're just sounding foolish here. Of course the mods will lock topics that are spammy and/or pointless, they've been given their powers for a reason. Actually, he does on occasion. Usually it's more of a 'popping in for a second' thing, like with responses to threads in the A5 forum. Jeff has better things to do than hang around his own forums discussing his games, like programming said games. I also imagine discussing the minutiae of the games with the rather harsh crowd here would get very discouraging very quickly. But I also get the feeling that Jeff reads much more than he responds. —Alorael, who is sorry that there are topics locked before you can respond. When I went to the Ambrosia SW boards to peek at how they do things (a year or two back), I was surprised by the fact that the game designers were actually among the most active participants on the boards. I totally had a conversation with Jeff about Dorikas on these boards not too long ago. Before that, he posted a bit in one of my Geneforge debate threads. Maybe you guys just have to be more interesting and insightful before he'll respond to you. As for locked topics, the mods have been a bit trigger happy lately. Jeff does post occasionally in non-game topics. Usually it's to lock them because they violate CoC or he doen't want that topic on his boards (Evolution vs. Intelligent Design over on GF4). I can go for stretches before a worthy thread catches my attention and makes me post, but I do lurk a bit. I think the mods are lock-happy at times and I think it may discourage posting. My view of these boards has never been the same since Jeff locked regulation.
