Buddy Holly died in -59, Che Guevara was part of a little revolt in -59, Explorer-6 was launched in said year, and Morrisey the vocalist for the Smiths was born then. As for the Wizard of Oz, all I could find was that in -59, Judy Garland was diagnosed with hepatitis and was told she could never sing again.
