To all of you out there,
In general, I want to apologize for posting questions in too many boards relating to the same question, by the same token; I don't appreciate anyone making fun of someone's need to know something. I may not post anymore on these boards just for that one fact. I thought it was supposed to be light conversation, again, sorry!

I'm fairly certain that no one has actually flamed your questions. Ever. You must have misunderstood someone's reply.

EDIT: Ignore ADoS.

Now now, be nice ADoS. Besides a few annoying habits, he/she didn't really do anything wrong.

What's going on now? Specifically, is there some sort of thread I could read wherein someone swears at someone else? Because that would be great.

Unfortunately, this place is neither for a short temper nor a thin skin. That doesn't mean you should reinforce the point, Ados.

So let's see.

You posted the Nethergate re-do in General, didn't you? It got locked because it was a duplicate. For some reason Order Mage posted an AYBABTU quote. Since we are with only a few exceptions (Alec/Maimonides) conditioned to mindlessly follow up internet memes, this was continued.

quote:

"How are you gentlemen!!"
"All your base are belong to us!!"
"You are on the way to destruction!!"
"You have no chance to survive make your time!!"
"Hahaha!!"

As you can see, the posts that followed quoted parts of these, and since moderation in General traditionally requires finding a snappy concluding line for a locked topic, I saw the opportunity of ending it with the "Hahaha" line. By that time, any relation the posts had with your thread was gone.

There hasn't been any flaming, just spamming. And pretty much all of that has been in General. So if it bothers you, just stay out of General and post your questions in the game forums whenever you have them.

Every single one of my 1000+ posts have been flamed.

The previous statement was not true.

I haven't posted in a while, might as well make it spam.

I think we all agree Ed is a nutjob...

Feel free to stick around, or to leave. The choice is yours. If you have complaints about flaming, please direct them to the moderator staff for analysis.

I missed something here... I never saw any flaming. You've barely posted this year.

I advise letting it go, and learning to enjoy the strange variety of insanity that fills the boards.

Females also inhabit this board, although we don't generally shout about it since Princess Ruthie and Antisocial Dragon inflamed TM to the point where he had to be kept in a dark room under sedation for a week and is now only allowed accompanied.
Now we just mention it quietly to avoid scaring the kittens.

If I were on fire maybe I'd be a little irritable and incoherent too.

—Alorael, who suspects Eddie is like many people who are his age. The problem is that it's very hard to give allowances for age online. And it's also hard to self-segregate without resorting to banning.

Maybe there should just be an option for members to filter out other members' posts. My imagination has already run amuck and has hypothesized a beautiful system for this. I have another idea, but I am not sure how to express it concisely and clearly right now so maybe I will edit it in later if the topic has actually been revived.

There already is such a system. It's called Page Down key. :P It is also effective at filtering out exessively long signatures, exessively verbose posts, and, if you aren't careful, entire threads, forums, and web pages.

Be careful with a word, as you would with a sword,
For it too has the power to kill.
However well placed word, unlike a well placed sword,
Can also have the power to heal.

You could ask Thralni for tips if PgDn doesn't work out for you.

This board runs on ancient (and overpriced) software, which is unlikely to ever get a new feature.

But it would be possible to make a Greasemonkey script for this. I thought about doing this once, but I suck too much at Javascript.

Sorry for spouting technical rambles again, I can't help myself.

Anyway, I'm glad this seems to be resolved, and I hope you stay, Morgaine. :)
