I like it. Quite a bit. Especially the quip about it being the Avernum 4 of comic strips. Nice work man. :D -------------------- If I could make just one wish, I would want a tasty vlish. Geneforge IV. Still no tasty vlish. Posts: 1104 | Registered: Tuesday, February 12 2002 08:00 |

Rats. For a moment there, Dikiyoba thought that Slartucker had created a new comic to entertain everyone with. Oh well. Dikiyoba read through (and laughed at) all of them again. Now Dikiyoba is off to re-read Alex's comics and Dikiyoba's own story. Bye. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Then the topic starter would've been Slarty rather than DV :P Posts: 1035 | Registered: Friday, April 1 2005 08:00 |

That's why Dikiyoba said "for a moment." The moment being the time it took to read the title and then look at who created it. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

I am saddened by the lack of new comics by either Alex or Slarty... -------------------- And though the musicians would die, the music would live on in the imaginations of all who heard it. -The Last Pendragon Polaris = joy. Glad you like the strips, DV! I do plan on making more. My good humor was temporarily derailed by the Ash incident, and this week RL concerns and lack of sleep have been sucking away my creative energy. Slarty vs. Desk will return, but it may be a little while -- I'd rather produce a few strips that are funny and incisive than a whole bunch of drivel. -------------------- Slarty vs. Desk • Desk vs. Slarty • Timeline of Ermarian • G4 Strategy Central Posts: 3560 | Registered: Wednesday, November 7 2001 08:00 |

I don't think I have read Alex's strips. People change names around here like folk change socks or underwear. I can't keep track of who is who half of the time. And the strip is excellent. -------------------- If I could make just one wish, I would want a tasty vlish. Geneforge IV. Still no tasty vlish. But diamonds in a sea of drivel would be a microcosm of Spiderweb! —Alorael, who should put his formidable talents to work and produce entertaining material of his own. Now, where could he acquire formidable talents? Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

There must be a comic about arghhhhhhhhh added to your collection, Slartucker! Let's find out what he looks like and what his final words are when he was banned. Dikiyoba doubts that Dikiyoba will ever appear in the comics, but if Dikiyoba does, Dikiyoba wants to be the T-Rex with the coffee mug. Edit: Your formidable talent is your changing names and sig, Alorael, and you've been entertaining us with it longer than I have knowledge of. Hmm. I rechecked his current username, and it's actually "the horned slayer". I stand by my original post, though. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Wasn't "horned" a term used in the wicked old days for cuckolded? How far, exactly, can we go in analyzing the pdn(s) of Argh*? -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

Change of plans. A new strip is up! I was just going to ask you about arghhhhhhhhh, actually, Dikiyoba. It seemed a little odd to me that I was fighting against the noobs in your story, given my tendency to defend arghhhhhhhhh. I think Slartucker needs to have some kind of crisis of conscience. The Nethergate forum might be the ideal place, actually, given the fact that you can play Nethergate as either of two opposing sides. Hmm. I'm pondering the hastily chosen title of Slarty versus Desk... this could get ugly. -------------------- Slarty vs. Desk • Desk vs. Slarty • Timeline of Ermarian • G4 Strategy Central Posts: 3560 | Registered: Wednesday, November 7 2001 08:00 |

I am pleased with the result of the strip. According to your strip, I am a dikiyoa now. My name has seemingly endless possibilities. Dikiyoba the dikiyoa of Dikiyobia. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

All right, I'll start out as a level one creation... Dikiyoba the dikiyora of Dikiyobia. Edit: You'd think that arghhhhhhhhh would have come up with some interesting mispellings of my name(I loved the way he misspelled "Delicious Vlish;" it felt like it should be part of a song), but I don't think he ever did. I sorta miss having a harmless noob around. It was when he wasn't harmless that it was an issue, though. Personally, I like the sound of "Dikiyoda". Great work, Slarty. EDIT: Fixed punctuation. If I was in the comic, I would want to be threereasons > cowboy. Can anyone explain this sudden rush on gimmicks? I mean, all of a sudden everyone appears to be updating some SW-related page or other, or perpetuating some particular meme. Tyran hosts the general chats, Slarty has his webcomic, Diki is making a drama script... I haven't noticed such a trend before. -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. I have very little perspective on this, since the "gimmicks" began shortly after I came to General. But it seems to me there have been many more posts this month than last. That plus the surprising success and scurrilousness of the chats (habitually having 15 people) probably make people more willing to blow energy off on community-oriented things. P.S. So would the monthly stats be a Gimmick with a capital G, then? -------------------- Slarty vs. Desk • Desk vs. Slarty • Timeline of Ermarian • G4 Strategy Central Posts: 3560 | Registered: Wednesday, November 7 2001 08:00 |

Naturally. They're merely a gimmick that's been around for a very long time. I'm anticipating this month's outcome as eagerly as you. quote:It is easy to recognize Alex because of his title. And well, I highly doubt he is one of the person that changes his name around too often. quote:Slarty: I thought we had discussed numerous times about the third person thing. It was original when Alorael came up with it, a bit annoying but ok when Dikiyoba started doing it. But now a third person doing it, it's just a little bit too much :P PS.
