Next time I make such a poll, TGM, which may or may not be never, I promise to put Finland on the list. It said European though. My line of thought runs thus: there's more likely to be more native speakers of English than non-natives. I may be wrong. Just so you know I clicked America. Yes, there are more countries in that continent besides the US. and Canada. Bother to look below a bit and you will discover South America, wich is still, America. You should separate South from North Amrica (excluding Mexico) if your counting english speaking countries. BTW: Who is the older guy here that clicked on 50? Just curious. What does 'American' mean for you? I was born in Chili, which is an american country, but for too many people 'America' means only 'U.S.A.'. Oh, and don't call 'North America' to the U.S.A. & Canada anglosaxon couple. Mexico is in North America too. Just too many people I know mistakes Latin America with South America. There are many countries called the Republic of So-and-So or the United States of Whatever. They are called So-and-So or Whatever in everyday speech, and their citizens are So-and-so-ians or Whatevericans. Following that formula, there isn't really another term for citizens of the USA than American unless we become USAian. Estadounidense works, but it's excessively long and just as appropriate for Brazil as the USA. —Alorael, who is done ranting now, except to protest that he does not shoot polar bears.
