ANYTHING from FF7. With no small bias, the MIDIs included in Echoes, Echoes: Assault. -------------------- We're all amazed but not amused By all the things that you said you'd do. The opera music in the Heroes of Might and Magic games was pretty awe-inspiring. I also liked the soundtracks for Anvil of Dawn, Might and Magic 6-8, Ultima 6 and 7, and the opening tune for Nethergate. -------------------- This space intentionally left blank. Always been fond of the soundtrack to Quake. Trent Reznor may be a whiny weenie, but he makes great music to frag by. Of course, the best song in any game ever is "Maybe", by the utterly inimitable Ink Spots, which suitably was featured in the introductory movie to the best game of the 1990s, Fallout. *traditional Spots guitar lead* Maybe you'll think of me When you are all alone. Maybe the one who Is waiting for you Will prove untrue, Then what will you do? Maybe You'll sit and and sigh Wishing that I were near Then maybe you'll ask me to come back again, and Maybe I'll say maybe. -------------------- You are my precious thing Thing of speed and beauty, You are my precious thing As long as you remain beneath me -- Big Black Posts: 999 | Registered: Friday, June 27 2003 07:00 |

The Nethergate intro is great (as mortification8 already mentioned). On average, I don't really care about the video game + song combination. Songs are songs and games are games. May they ever be apart. Background music - okay. But not any real songs. They just mess up the playing experience (and vice cersa). Posts: 756 | Registered: Monday, August 4 2003 07:00 |

Doom had and still has great music, serous sam had posibly the grandest pieces during sequences of inactivity (about 5 miniuts in the whole game) and the origional unreal tornament had the most adrenalin pumping no-stop-lets-frag-for-ever music ever!!! however possibly the best music ever ever ever for imotional impact had to be Homeworlds take on 'adigio for the strings' (third level, where you see Karak buring) that music was so powerfull it made me cry! also the battle music was pretty neat as well!!! but in the end my favorout music goes to Battlefield 1942's intro and menu music, just that beat... du da du da da da du du du du da da... MDK and MDK2 also had some of the funniest and most exilerating music albums ever, tell me if i missed anything... -------------------- E=MC2 =Meaning of reletivity =meaning of life = Coke and Curry. Now there are many games with good music. I like a bunch of the mentioned Final Fantasy songs and the Nethergate intro, and others. —Alorael, who would also like to mention the first time he heard good music in a game. That would be in Loom, and not just because they used parts of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake. It was also the last time he heard good music for quite a while. My favorite game music of all time has to be the music in Power Pete. I also enjoyed the music in Warcraft II and Starcraft quite a bit. -------------------- "Let a man find himself, in distinction from others, on top of two wheels with a chain- at least in a poor country like Russia- and his vanity begins to swell out like his tires. most of the ingame music for WC3: TFT (except the Night Elf music... GAH), most of the music in FF6 and FF7. -------------------- Urban wisdom is not actual wisdom. FF music, period. And.... Heroes of Might and Magic, the Restoration of Erathia (the only one I've played from those) had rather catchy fighting music. I like listening to them. And Nethergate, as people have already mentioned. -------------------- Ah! I like the background music from Sierra's 'Zeus' and 'Poseidon' so much that I sometimes listen to it even when playing other games, or doing work. It's so relaxing. And Lords of Magic (even though I only ever played the demo and that briefly) has absolutely wonderful themes for the different Elements. I'm listening to the Order, Water and Air themes right now; wonderful music. -------------------- "And all should cry, Beware, Beware! His Flashing eyes, his Floating hair!" S. T.
