A lot of schools don't. It won't count for or against you. In fact, some colleges recalculate GPAs without the + or - modifiers your school gives. Other schools give number grades out of 100. A silly question: do you have Classic on your computer? Some suggestions: Load classic before opening the game. Go to 256 colors before opening the game. Get Info on the game and multiply the memory requirements by about 5 to 8. It depends on the level of school you're looking to get into. Large state schools are all about the #'s if you're in-state. But to get into "the best schools" you need more than the numbers. The idea behind that is that basically every applicant to Harvard or Stanford is capable of doing the work (with a few exceptions, who are weeded out early on). The difference between a 3.7 GPA with a 2350 SAT and a 4.1 GPA with a 2200 SAT is negligible. These schools are trying to build a well-rounded community. That doesn't mean every student should be well-rounded, but that together each incoming class should have kids from all ends of the spectrum. The single most important factor in getting into these types of schools is "having a passion". That one thing you love to do and do well. They love to see that. Not to say that not having a passion means you'll automatically get rejected, either, but the whole passion thing is a big plus. Don't try to go out and develop a passion. Doesn't work that way. What you need to do is get a couple of good teacher recommendations and write good, sincere essays that really give the admissions officers a sense for who you are as a person and as a student. Extra-curriculars are great too, if you're really involved or interested in one or two activities. But joining 10 clubs and being "treasury vice president" in five won't help your case. Some elite schools (Stanford, for one) drop your freshman year grades and recalculate your GPA from your sophomore and junior grades (with a tiny bit of senior grades just to make sure you're not slipping). So, in summary, grades and test scores are not the be all and end all. If you have a passion, emphasize that on your application. Make sure to write strong, honest essays, and get some teachers who really know you to write your recommendations. And don't stress too much! EDIT: And there will always be a couple people in each senior class in your school who are smart and good all-around students who will not get into any of their top choices. Just hope it isn't you. It's an outdoor encounter. You need to set it up from the outdoor section. There are several spaces where you can enter node numbers - there should be one for a node to come up when you come across the encounter. Yeah, that happens a lot in Geneforge, with Pharikos and others. Geneforge has a high amount of monsters tied to machinery that recharges them.
