Looking for friends, of which I had none in real life. Also I played BoE. The Zeeqon5 gimmick personality got old, and the multiple accounts with different gimmick personalities got annoying and obvious immediately. So I picked a name, The Almighty Do-er of Stuff, and stuck with that, except during the Tim and Mao crazes. After Tim UBB wouldn't let me use my old name so I removed the hyphen. After Mao it wouldn't let me use my name without the hyphen, so I put it back. I prefer it without the hyphen. I am a BoE person. I will be designing a scenario sometime in the near future (Terror From The Park, again. No, I haven't given up yet! This is going to be the best incarnation yet! And maybe I'll even release it!) but otherwise my contributions are limited because I am a notorious nitwit. I released The Scenario, a couple Designer's Forum articles, a few graphics for both BoE and BoA. Very few of them were any good. I might submit a graphic at some point. Not Avernum 4 or Geneforge 3. They're not bad per se, but they're not exactly good either, from what I've heard, especially plotwise. A4 supposedly has some of the best strategic combat of any of Spidweb's games, though, so if you don't care about plot and like strategic combat, try the demo of A4 (it's got a rather different engine than the previous installments in the series). Don't start your Spidweb experience with G3 though. Avernum 1-3 are remakes of Exile 1-3 with a newer engine and some minor added stuff. Some people prefer the old engine, some prefer the new engine. Finding out which you prefer is what the demos are for. Each of the first three installments in either engine is good, but the third is good in a different way from the first two. Blades of Exile and Blades of Avernum contain programs for creating "scenarios", which are games made using the Exile and Avernum engines, respectively, which run in the main BoE/A programs. I don't recommend buying BoE because Jeff Vogel said he's going to release the source code as soon as he figures out what he did with it. There are hundreds of scenarios available for BoE (some of which are excellent and many of which are good) and significantly fewer for BoA (which is newer and far more complicated to make scenarios for). I'm not sure about BoA, but BoE doesn't have a registration code. You must buy the CD (if you buy it at all, which again isn't recommended unless Jeff changes his mind about releasing the source code), but he sends you a URL where you can download the full program. The only scenario playable in either unregistered program is the mediocre Valley of Dying Things, unfortunately. The second included scenario, A Small Rebellion, is highly rated at the Lyceum (see my signature for a link). Nethergate (which isn't part of a series) is supposed to be excellent, but a remake is currently in testing, so I recommend holding out on this one for now. Geneforge 4, the latest game, is also supposed to be excellent, featuring (from what I've heard) some of the best storytelling Jeff's ever done. Geneforge 1 and 2 are quite good as well, and I recommend playing the whole series for plot reasons.
