EDIT: There's more extreme stuff than the first two, but I couldn't be bothered to find music videos of it. The stuff here is the stuff I like enough to have downloaded.

Their first four albums, Kill 'em All, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets and And Justice for All are thrash metal. The next five, Metallica, Load, Reload, Garage Inc. and S&M are a mix of thrash and hard-rock. Their last album, St. Anger is nu metal.

Never listen to nu metal. For people just starting with metal, it's easier to start with hard-rock and then progress your way harder depending on your tastes. So I would suggest albums five through nine.

This is the statement that I cannot believe. I cannot believe that the Palestinians as a whole are morally inferior to the Israelis as a whole. The Palestinians may overall support more hard-line rhetoric, but they're in a more desperate situation, which almost invariably leads to more desperate attempts to get out of it.
More desperate situation? More desperate than facing an enemy who's only stance is to destroy the other side. In case you forgot to read that part of Zevis's post, the only party that supports that is outlawed in Israel while being the most popular in palestinian-controlled lands. Who, by the way, are surrounded by allies. Which by default means they have extra backing when threatening Israel with anything.

I suggest reading the posts you quote before you comment about them. My reasoning for what needs to be done to the muslim theocracys is because of this.

Okay, fine. The Rakshasi wouldn't know that it was demons... But considering the demonic energy-- that is, a symptom of portals going to or from hell...
All I'm saying is, the Rakshasi see this coming. Considering that you'd have a hard time actually surprising them like this anyway, all I'm doing is pre-emptively describing how the strategy is changing.

I wasn't saying it was wrong, just early.

I'm not seeing the contradiction. I see a sentence that I unnoticingly made contradictory in my second post ("I find it amusing that you think there is a contradiction blah blah blah"). My statement about the possibility of Israel only restructuring rather than dissolving its government could be taken as a call for Israel to reform rather than cease existing. But I would estimate the necessary restructuring to be so drastic that the state Israel as it is would cease to exist.

But that, if we look at these posts in chronological order, was after Zeviz told me I was making contradictory statements and so has no bearing. Someone will have to spell out the contradiction for me.

Saying that there's no reason for anyone to attack Israel and then saying that you don't understand why Israel still exists in the same breath. That seems pretty contradictory to me. When putting it in context that was never mentioned before mitigates it somewhat, but as you said there was another case of contradiction after that.

I'm not presuming to know more about Israel's history than a citizen of Israel, but didn't the Six Day War resulted in Israel gaining a lot of territory and defeating three countries in six days? Hardly "almost destroyed".

Even the Yom Kippur War ended with not all of the territory regained, and in fact helped diplomatic relations.

In any case, nothing like open war is going to happen now. Israel has proven that it is very hard to beat in armed conflicts, and has the backing of the U.S.

During the first four days of the six day war, Israel looked like a squashed ant. A squashed ant that somehow managed to rise up and defend itself from it's attackers agains all odds.

The Yom Kippur war was not so much a near defeat for Israel as it was a surprise. Practically no troops were on duty. They struck at the time when Israel was weakest in hopes of getting rid of it.

First off, so many quote tags are evil.

Second, you stated an argument, he called it contradictory, you defended it, he rebutted your defense. Where is this coming from?

1. There were no demons on Vantas at the time.
2. They were using set up scrying pools, not creating their own portals.

Also, if all that happened was that you sensed portals opening, how would you know it was demons.

So, I asked you to convince me as to why, when you are surrounded, your only options are to "react" or to die. You made that comment in regards to Israel. You responded to my question by saying "I guess you've never been in a real fight before," comparing the situation around Israel to "a real fight" which I assumed referred to a personal brawl. I don't think the two situations are particularly analogous.
Because this isn't some political enemy working with political motives. This has the same backing and force as a fistfight on a gigantic scale. That make them analogous.

Apparently you've never been in a real fight before. Though I haven't faced death, losing those is not pleasent and the only way to avoid excessive physical injury is to win.

Please tell me you do not actually beleive what you just wrote. Please tell me you are just playing some kind of devil's advocate. Do hundreds of speeches from political and religious leaders from as far away as western Europe and both Americas mean absolutely nothing? Are you telling me I'm just imagining the attacks that come on a regular basis? Hell, it's almost as if they have some kind of schedule, the suicide bombings are that frequent.

"Sir! We regret to inform you that a demonic nexus is forming to the south of us!"

"Demons," spat the Doctor. "They are of no threat to us. What brimstone can they hurl at us which we will not devour?"
"Nevermind that," said Scarmiglione. "We must still take their threat seriously."
"Very well, Red Star. But what do you propose?"
"I propose that we immediately send a group of magi to seal off the nexus before its formation."
"That sounds reasonable, Master."

Didn't happen yet. Please rewrite this section of the post.

So a Muslim theocracy is a potential enemy, but a Jewish theocracy is peachy-keen? :P

Seriously, I don't see the difference between a Muslim theocracy and any other kind. Christian theocracies, in their heyday, put a lot of people to the sword. Even the Buddhists are jackasses when they hold a state monopoly on truth.

Muslims aren't the enemy (in spite of your sterling efforts - thanks for pissing the entire Arab world off at the only Western country that had yet to do them specific wrong, Israel! Best friends forever.) . The enemy is wrath, the attitude that there are no second chances. An eye for an eye leaves everyone blind, and the US doesn't have the firepower to take the entire Earth. As much as we might seem to want to.

What do you think of Turkey, while I've got your ear? Can we trust them?

In case you failed to get it, even though you quoted the post this was written in, I was talking from the Israeli standpoint. When surrounded on all sides by enemies, when any of them make a move you must respond. Anything other than that means death.

Far more variety than gangster rap to pure industrial noise to death metal? (For the sake of argument, since I only count one of those genres as real music.)

And I do like classical but it just is not agressive enough for me, the slow parts are boring and the fast parts end quickly. Many black metal bands, however, uses classical scores in their music which is offset by blast beats, heavily distorted guitars and throat-wrenching vocals.
