NOSE (Not an Other Script Editor) is a savegame editor. It lets you alter your character's stats and, in the next versions, your inventory.
IMAGE(http://x2.putfile.com/7/19312233314.jpg)As you can see it's not very nice to look at(i'll work on this in the next releases) but it's simple and removes the need to play with script files.

Simply run it; it will show you the "Open File" dialogue. Go to your savegame's folder (Save0, Save1,...) and open the "data" file. From there it's very simple. To quit&save simply press the ESC key.

Let's try to rehearse for a second:
in the zip file there where 3 files, right?
-z32westdock.txt (last modified 13/07/2005, 12.02.12)
-z34bulwark.txt last modified 13/07/2005, 13.07.14)
-z55westdock.txt last modified 13/07/2005, 12.15.54)
(please check if the filestamps match)

You got them and put into the Geneforge3\Data\Scripts directory, overwriting the old files. Greta leaves you when you reach the west-dock and you don't find her at the Bulwark inn. I'll check again...

Btw try reentering the Bulwark Inn after chasing away master Hoge.

Anyway, go to the Bulwark Inn and see if you can get her back

Please explain: what doesn't work? Do you have Alwan and Greta in the party and one of them leaves you? Or are you trying to get back Greta or Alwan from the Bulwark inn?

The tests i've done in the meantime worked for me :)

After a little searching in the scripts i found out that these 2 flags determine if Greta or Alwan leave you.
flag(100,10) is for how you treat Rebels;
flag(100,12) is for the creator.

It wouldn't be at all difficult to reset these flags but i STRONGLY discourage this because it might have some impredictable results later in the plot (so scripters, i'm warning you, leave them alone!)

What can be done is simply to disable the script.
Here are the scripts i modified, download the zip; it contains a Script directory you must overwrite the Geneforge3/data/scripts folder with.
Let me know if it works :)

I think it's checking the major quests more than the general alignment. I will give it a look but i'm afraid tinkering with major quests might have repercussions later in the game... :-/

The files? Note that my editor consists only of "z42dhonaldlg.txt" :)

Could you please click on this link , let it open, be sure the last lines read:

I've changed a few things(the formatting in some specific cases could get screwed up), now it should work whichever way you put it in the script folder.

It may be you have done a little mess with all the editors you downloaded ;)
Reinstall Geneforge 3 (or simply put back the original script files), download the script (be sure the file contains all 199 talknodes) and try again. If it doesn't work i have a problem to solve :P

Btw are you using a macintosh?

try this: open my script in the browser, select all and then copy. Open z42dhonaldlg.txt in your geneforge/data/scripts folder, delete all and paste my script

I'm very open to make one unique editor, i'm just waiting for the other scripters to come say if they agree or not.

could you please use this link ( http://inf1.altervista.org/phptrack/track.php?file=z42dhonaldlg.txt) for my editor? It helps because the link will continue to work even if i move the script elsewhere and it gives me some statistics :)

AFAIK all the editor are missing something the others have.
Mine doesn't let you edit single stats by 1 point (i didn't do this because there already was another editor that did it) but let's you teleport while the other editors don't give you this ability.

Maybe we should do some constructive copy&paste and make one unique, definitive editor.

Here it is.

Like all geneforge editors, copy the linked file into the geneforge3/data/scripts directory (remember to make a backup copy of z42dhonaldlg.txt, or even better of the whole directory).

To use the editor go to Dhonal's keep main library and talk with the shaper that usually says he can't be bothered.

Some of the features:
Reset canister countTeleport to starting point of each islandMove nearer/farther to/from shaper beliefsIncrease walking speedThe usual money, stat, skill, level increase.Hope you like it :)
For any request for new featurs feel free to post.
