Does anyone actually have some links to quality fantasy artwork? I'm not really looking for anything 3-D, however. I've always been a big fan of in-game spell chants as well; Neverwinter Nights got me hooked. So if anyone has a link to those, I'd be interested ;) [ Wednesday, February 08, 2006 01:36: Message edited by: Viseroth ] Posts: 17 | Registered: Sunday, March 27 2005 08:00 |

I played Well of Souls for awhile. Unfortunately, it's a fairly mindless game. Why do you say BG3 doomed? [ Friday, January 06, 2006 10:22: Message edited by: Viseroth ] Posts: 17 | Registered: Sunday, March 27 2005 08:00 |

Would it be possible to work martial arts into the next game as a melee skill? Possibly with various special moves? Personally, there's something I love about beating things down with my bare hands in a game and I feel it'd add a lot to the fun factor of the game. Believe me, I've poured many hours into the google search engine trying to feed my fetish, all to no avail. The problem with the true classics is that they're often too ugly to be enjoyable, not that Spiderweb games are a visual masterpiece, but they nicely walk the line between games with characters composed of a few pixels and games that try to have somewhat advanced graphics but end up looking horrible (ShadowFlare, for example). But yeah, if anyone does happen to know of some classic games that I may enjoy, please suggest them and I'll check them out. They don't HAVE to be multiplayer, though it would be a plus. Neverwinter Nights is...eh. The leveling system is a bit too slow for my liking, especially if you play multiplayer. I am looking forward to NWN2 and Baldur's Gate 3 though. Can anyone recommend to me some NON-MMORPG games that follow the classic rpg style of Spiderweb Software? I'd be particularly interested in networkable games. Thanks ;) Posts: 17 | Registered: Sunday, March 27 2005 08:00 |

If you're a serious gamer, Guild Wars will get very old, very fast. The game itself is good, but the community is plagued with incompetence and young kids. However, I'm willing to sell my veteran account for a mere $195 if anyone's interested ;) Posts: 17 | Registered: Sunday, March 27 2005 08:00 |

Hi, do any of you happen to know any other RPGs similar to these and preferably multiplayer (not MMORPGs)? I've got a hankering to play a cheesy-graphic RPG with some depth to it that has hack-and-slash playability as well as interesting content, though I'm open to any RPG suggestions that you might have in mind. Again, I'd prefer networkable games if possible. Thanks for the help. Posts: 17 | Registered: Sunday, March 27 2005 08:00 |

We realize that life sucks, however looking to find validation for your existence on an internet forum is pretty pathetic. One day you'll look back on this and feel like a fool. Posts: 17 | Registered: Sunday, March 27 2005 08:00 |

If anyone out there has been thinking about getting Half-Life 2, please, take it off of my hands ;) Though it's a great game and I love CS: Source, I simply cannot play shooters with fps lag, and my average fps with this game are between 15 and 25...just doesn't cut it. So, if someone is willing to trade a pre-ordered copy of Guild Wars in exchange for my HL2 account, please contact me at arkanefate@hotmail.com. Thanks ;) Posts: 17 | Registered: Sunday, March 27 2005 08:00 |

I've got Empire Dervish, Power Crystal, Haakai, and of course, Dark Wyrm as my simulacrum summons. I did not cheat to get any of them, unless you consider reloading a few times while fighting them cheating, which I'm sure some people might. Dark Wyrms are godly. Try them some time. You can get them early on in the giant cave, if I recall correctly. Posts: 17 | Registered: Sunday, March 27 2005 08:00 |

Hmm, I don't think most of you read my post too carefully, lol. Like I said, I wouldn't care if it was a MMORPG, simply having it networkable would suffice. Nor do I care if it's "wonderful." Sometimes I enjoy playing simple rpgs that are networkable in which the graphics are poor, but there's a lot of room for character development and the story is somewhat interesting. The game wouldn't have to be party-based, either. It could be similar to Geneforge in how you just have one character per player. It definitely would have to be real-time though. As someone previously mentioned, turn-based games become quite taxing on the nerves, mainly due to the sheer amount of time you spend waiting on the other player. Age of Wonders II is a perfect example of a great game that simply isn't worth playing after awhile because you have to sit there and watch your enemies fight their battles, or wait for them to finish their turn. Just curious about this, because most of the games seem to use the exact same engine and simply convey a different story. I want a multiplayer game, dammit! Posts: 17 | Registered: Sunday, March 27 2005 08:00 |

Is it just me or is Simulacrum a flat out game-breaking spell? I mean, all you have to do to win ANY fight in the game with little to no effort is to sit back with your mage and summon Dark Wyrms, Power Crystals, or whatever other godlike creatures you happen to soul capture. Dark Wyrms are just crazy...they have HUNDREDS of hp, brutal multi-hitting melee attacks, and an insanely damaging ranged attack. Why make it possible to capture such ridiculously strong creatures? I'm only on day 50, yet I can completely descimate entire cities with my party of three and my incredible simulacrum summons, not to mention how easily I can win any other battles I come across. I feel that this spell needs some tweaking. Posts: 17 | Registered: Sunday, March 27 2005 08:00 |

Some sort of simple little multiplayer rpg would be great, even if it was only networkable and not massively multiplayer. Posts: 17 | Registered: Sunday, March 27 2005 08:00 |

I played through the open beta up to level 28, and afterwards up to level 32, both with a mage. The game was fun at first, but it becomes incredibly tedious and dull. It's basically Dark Age of Camelot 2...if you enjoy games where you just mindlessly level up all day, run around doing errand-boy quests, and don't mind only being able to hunt with people within a couple level of you, this game is fine. Also, the pvp is utterly pointless...in most cases, whoever is the higher level wins with little skill involved. And when it comes to army vs army combat, you might think it sounds cool, but when you actually get involved in that chaos, you quickly realize how stupid it is. Once you're targetted, you die almost instantly, and your individual presence really doesn't matter all too much. And if all of that wasn't annoying enough, you lose absolutely nothing upon death other than a minute of your time to run back to your corpse, giving you no insentive to try and keep your character alive. Incredibly boring game all around. Guild Wars is the way to go. Posts: 17 | Registered: Sunday, March 27 2005 08:00 |
