Since joining the forums, I've aged 6 years (birthday's in December), grown nearly 5 in, got out of the Navy after 5 years, bought a car, started managing an online baseball team, and had three girlfriends (not at the same time).

There were a few others, but not really worth mentioning. ;) :cool:

I appologize for losing my cool, I don't usually do that. When the talk was about the games I was calm yet firm. But when I made a little joke about Ash Lael's tag and Salmon called me a NOOB...that is what set me off!

I want to appologize to anyone that was offended by the rant and will edit it to suit the needs of the board. I like all the games that Spiderweb makes. I'm a firm follower of Spiderweb Software.

I'm gonna issue another appology on Hawkwind's post too just in case everyone doesn't read it here. Again, my sincere appologies. :(

Oh and Salmon, you might've had to help pay my salary with your taxes...but I had to pay taxes too!

As I've said before and will continue to say again, I like to play Exile. Even to this day, sometimes. But you've got to be realistic, Exile is outdated and games like Avernum and Geneforge are the games of today. That's just the way it is! So please spare the drama

I hate to say it, but if Exile was included, would anyone had voted for it? I love the game, but...
1. Since Exile and Avernum have pretty much the same storyline, but Avernum fixed some discrepancies, that cancels out Exile.
2. Avernum has a better engine, graphics, and interface, again canceling out Exile.
3. Exile does have way more spells, but most are pretty much useless. Avernum's spells are all practical.
4. Although the monsters are pretty much the same, Avernum gave them more abilities.

So in conclusion, why speculate why Exile wasn't included when it is indeed inferior! Don't get me wrong, I still love to play the Exile Trilogy every now and again, but Avernum is the better choice. :cool:
