You know, most message boards today don't consign you to be guest, but allow you to choose any username you want, or they have special prefixes / suffixes to add to that username that you choose, so as not to be confused with actual members, per se. Guest accounts are rare. -------------------- Song of the Pack -- An Online Multiplayer Wolf RPG!~ Posts: 223 | Registered: Friday, October 26 2001 07:00 |

quote:Originally written by Stughalf: Of those of you that read, what do you read? What genres or authors do you prefer, and why do you believe you prefer them? Feel free to delve as deeply as you wish into your psyches to answer this one. In another vein, what are your opinions on Classic novels? Are they deserving of their vaunted status, or do you find many of them to be overrated, outdated, or just plain lousy? I'll post my opinions at a later point; I'm far too tired at the moment .I haven't read in years. I think Classic literature as a similar style of diction, style of writing altogether within it, and perhaps some of the better writing of our times, considering that the feel I get from contemporary novels is that of a media-esque style. Full of action, fast transitions, sex, etc., much like what's on TV. I prefer fantasy novels, back when i did read, however. -------------------- Song of the Pack -- An Online Multiplayer Wolf RPG!~ Posts: 223 | Registered: Friday, October 26 2001 07:00 |

(00:55:27) Ed Lemur: Wanna do be a favour? Go to Spidweb, go to the topic "Shoulder to Cry On' Don't read it. Just post "Now, wait a second. Ed was in the right to say everything he did. He's right too." Exactly like that! Then I win. (00:55:41) Feran: link me then (00:55:42) Ed Lemur: And idiots lose. (00:56:00) Ed Lemur: http://www.ironycentral.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=001105 (01:01:14) Ed Lemur: Come on! Don't let them win. (01:01:24) Feran: i'm doing it i'm doing it! (01:01:46) Feran: tnere (01:01:47) Feran: posted Sorry. I really should stop listening to Ed, considering I still have emotion and he does not. I offer my condolences if you really did care for her. I don't know how I would live if I lost my closest loved ones. Regardless of whether or not life is meaningless, it doesn't mean that the people I care for aren't important to me. Reality to local to individual, happiness a distraction found in the company of others. Try not to create threads though, in a public area like this. Among your close friends, in a more closed board, sure, but there are people @ SW who will either flame you because they're evil, or call you a "pity-wh*re". I once again apologize for my actions. I trust Ed you know. I should be more careful next time. -------------------- Song of the Pack -- An Online Multiplayer Wolf RPG!~ Posts: 223 | Registered: Friday, October 26 2001 07:00 |

ROFLMAO. ADoS and his crappy wannabe shrink solution to Ed's "problem". Don't make me throw up. It's true. It's time you all face up to the fact that life is meaningless, that we all exist via others' perception of ourselves, that our realities are limited to only what we craft with our minds. For the billions of people on the other side of the world, we don't exist, we won't exist, and we never existed. For the people that remember us now -- in a couple of decades we will have been forgotten and never have existed either. Even those "immortalized" in history records or books have meaningless existences for their existences are limited to words on a piece of paper. Burn the paper, kill all the people that know, and voila, no more existence. And of course idiots can't accept this, we as humans just *have* to have some sort of HIGHER MEANING so we create religion to give us meaning in life. You know what Marx said -- "Religion is the opiate of the masses." We use it to justify the inexplicable, but that stuff is old now. We have science to replace Noah's Ark and the divine incest that repopulated the animal and human population of the earth. There is no meaning in life. So when someone dies, sure it hurts you, but guess what? A lot of us really don't care. As Lemur said, we didn't know these people, we won't know these people, and the only reason anyone might have the slightest feeling for you is because they know you and it's what society taught us - "When someone's sad, say you're sorry." -- one of the most ridiculous and illogical and stupid phrases ever. At least that's how I feel :P Just another faceless name, meaningless lives, forgotten in a few years. And I agree that TM is being hypocritical. Ed really wasn't making any low blows or flaming. He was saying that her death made him happy because he's insane. And he said that life is meaningless, which it is. So stop banging on him and stop trying to believe that you have some higher meaning, diminish the hope you have for a meaning in life because there is no meaning in life. You die. The end. -------------------- Song of the Pack -- An Online Multiplayer Wolf RPG!~ Posts: 223 | Registered: Friday, October 26 2001 07:00 |

Everyone who frequents this board is part of our community, which is a type of club unified by Spiderweb Software games. So such a thing is silly and unnecessary. -------------------- Song of the Pack -- An Online Multiplayer Wolf RPG!~ Posts: 223 | Registered: Friday, October 26 2001 07:00 |
