quote:
One of the five digits of the hand, especially one other than the thumb.
That would imply that a finger is a digit on the hand other than the thumb. Which would mean that the thumb is not a finger at all.
But... it doesn't really matter, so, back on topic:
quote:
Vahnatai are known for nimbleness and magical power, not for beefy arms.
But if Drakey was a Vahnatai, he could just cast a really strong weakness spell on Alorael, and a really strong strength spell on himself.

Nobody has 10 fingers. Everybody has 8 fingers and 2 thumbs (assuming they are not deformed or lost any fingers).
A more appropriate question would be: "How many digits do you have?"

How many times can Alorael hit a moving target in ten seconds...
Well it depends on his skill, the skill of the moving target, the type of sniper rifle, the distance between them, the intervening terrain, the weather, the quality of the scope, how well the scope is sighted in, and the caliber of the sniper rifle.

How many fingers do you have...
Well, I guess I'm the only one who can tell the difference between my fingers and my thumbs, because I voted 8, and everybody else voted 10

Firefox is also open source so if you're really good you can modify it and distribute it. You can also get extensions for it to add extra functionality.

A surface scan on scandisk would have revealed any damage to the hard drive, and marked it off as unusable, effectively decreasing available storage space. But it would have had to take major damage to make 1 GB unusable.
Now maybe if the hard drive was hit with a baseball bat while it was running, that might cause that much damage. But I doubt that happened.

Eww, creative writing. I can't remember the last time I wrote anything I'd want a teacher to read.
Hmm... Today I wrote a paragraph entirely on cheesecake, so maybe it's not all bad.

The more English, you have, the better your communication skills, reading speed and comprehension, composition skills, and basically the better you are with interacting with other people and sharing your ideas in an effective manner.
Reading speed and comprehension were never any problem for me. It's the writing part that I hate. Well, hate probably isn't a strong enough word. It's more like absolutely loathe with every fiber of my being and all my heart and soul.

But anyways, I've said it before and I'll say it again...
Man, I'm gald I'm in a Technical College. I only have to take English and Math Classes related to my major.
And I think it should be 3 credits in all the core subjects in high school: Science, English, History, and Lunch... erm, I mean Math.

I would put programming closer to construction engineering. Your job is to put something together, you have to figure out a way to make it work, then you put it together.

Yes, but it only uses virtual memory if there isn't enough room in physical memory to store what it needs.

And I agree with that, but my point is four (required) classes on English is a little bit overkill. Three at most should be all you need.
High school is supposed to prepare you for college or a more simple career, not to get you ready to be an English Professor at Harvard.

Not an actual pencil and paper test, but them going through basic procedures with their equipment, and the teacher or an assistant watching them and seeing what they do wrong and what they do right. And butt-kissing doesn't always require good communication skills, just being able to agree with the boss on everything they say.
Also, by the time you get to high school, you should already have a reasonable ability to read and write. If you can't read and write to some extent, you should be sent back to elementary school.

Also, no matter how much money you may make, your supervisor will always make more, and what gives your supervisor the edge? Communication skills.
Or it could be butt-kissing ability that got him there, or the fact that he has been on the job longer and got promoted there. Or he could be related to the boss.

And sure, a welder may not need language skills in order to do his job from day to day. But suppose that welder is in a workplace where he believes unsafe working practices are taking place. He talks to his boss about it but can't convince him to change his practices. To take the matter further, he has to fill out a written complaint. Whether he's taken seriously or not will depend on how well he's able to express himself -- and his very life could depend on it.
I believe they have to go through safety checks every now and then, and I'm pretty sure they have a safety test they have to pass if they learned welding in college.

How does writing have anything to do with programming? The only thing I could see a programmer writing (on paper) is something in pseudocode or a flow chart. And the only thing that they should be typing is code for programs.
I don't see a welder writing much either.

No! You never want to run Scandisk from Windows, unless the DOS (Command Prompt) version tells you to do so. It's slower, and IMO less stable and tells you less about what it is doing.
And Virtual Memory doesn't make the computer run faster at all, it makes it run slower. It just lets it run more (or bigger) programs than it could normally handle, by giving it more space

Language classes are the ones I hate the most. I never understood why I would need 4 classes for a language I already speak fluently (English, duh).

I wonder... In Japan, do you think they have to take 4 classes in high school on Japanese?
