well, you might not be a nerd, Toenail, you could just be a geek.

And there is a difference between geek and nerd. Geeks have social skills, nerds don't

please note that this could take anywhere from 10 minutes to several hours, so you should probably do this before you go to bed, and let it run overnight

restart your computer, and while it's booting up, keep pressing F8 until you get an options menu. In that menu should be an option that says 'Command Prompt Only'. Choose it. wait for a few moments to let it load the command prompt. When it finishes you should se a line of text at the bottom that looks like this:

C:\>

When you get there, type "scandisk c: /surface /autofix", so it should look like this:

C:\>scandisk c: /surface /autofix

press enter, and let it run. that should fix the hard drive space problem

BTW, my comp runs only the required programs upon bootup, has 512 mb of ram, and it takes like 750 mb of hard drive space for virtual memory. I think what it does is reserve space on the hard drive for virtual memory when you boot up

Man, I'm glad I'm in a technical college. My classes are all like 15-25 people

Do many of you college members attend lecture room style classrooms (meaning around 100+ students in a room) or the traditional classrooms? (meaning around 10-25 students) Just curious.
All of my classes are the traditional format. I don't think I have a class with more than 20 people in it.

They may be licensed, but that doesn't mean that public school teachers are professionals. I taught more QBASIC (programming language) than I learned in my computer class in high school. But, like it has been previously stated, college is wayyyy better. The chicken strips in the cafeteria are made of REAL chicken, and not that pressed crap Chicken McNuggets are made of. We get real shrimp too!

quote:
Heh. At least you wouldn't have to worry anymore on waking up early. Do most colleges follow the MWF,TR and/or MTWRF format with classes nowadays or is it different from college to college?
It varies from college to college, and sometimes from class to class.
Like, I have a class I have only on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and then another at a different time on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, but all my others I have the same time every day Mon-Fri.

How about RuneScape? It's a MMORPG, but I've seen it work fine on a 28.8k connection. You can play it for free, or you can pay the $5 a month to get the other half of the feature.

Basically you go around, kill stuff, build up your different skills (it has like 26 different skills you can use), etc...
I find it unbelievably addicting.

The only problems are
1: Like Guild Wars, it's plagued by incompetent youngsters
2: Every time you turn around everbody is trying to scam you out of your stuff.

My favorites are: motivated, happy, content, and neutral.
in motivated, I am inspired to finish any current project im working on
in happy and content, obviously I am happy and content
and in neutral, its easier for me to concentrate on things.

My favorite methods of cheering up are: Listening to my music as loud as possible, blowing stuff up with high caliber rifles, and watching violent cartoons (Tom & Jerry and Acme Hour come to mind)

I remember Mana Flare. That was a cool card. Then there was Extinction (black sorcery declare a creature type, bury all creatures of that type). I liked Angelic Chorus and Serra Avatar (creature with str. and toughness equal to your health when it's summoned, if it goes to the graveyard you automatically reshuffle it into your deck). Bring out Angelic Chorus, then Serra Avatar, and your health is instantly doubled.

Personally, I preferred a Black/White combo deck. With black you got lots of instant death cards and Spirit of the Night (7/6 flying black creature, protection from black), with white you got all the healing and damage prevention cards, along with the Disenchant card.

Here's what I would do:

1)I would get a bunch of the students together (as many as you can)

2)Then we (me and the group of students) would refuse to do anything we are told. Be generally disobedient, but not physically disruptive.

3)Get a small digital camera (I've seen some el-cheapo's for as low as $40) and have it ready to record anything as soon as it happens

4)Wait for something to happen, and record it

5)Show video to parents and authorities

I used to play it all the time, back before it started sucking. I remember the classic reoccurring nightmare deck. A Blue Whale coupled with an Angelic Chorus, Reoccurring Nightmare, and an Urza's Dragoons was unstoppable.

Blue Whale: 7/7 3 colorless 4 blue (I think) when it comes into play you untap 7 mana
Angelic Chorus: white global enchantment, when you bring a creature into play, you gain life equal to it's toughness
Reoccurring Nightmare: black global enchantment, 2 colorless, 1 black mana, return it to your hand to switch a creature in play with one in your graveyard
Urza's Dragoons: white 2/5 creature give's you five health when it comes into play

Another thing I just noticed: most people, when they steal Alorael's sig, put a space between the dash and they're name, when there should be no space.

Since zellie mentioned The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, I have to mention these:

Restaurant at the End of the Universe
Life, the Universe, and Everything
So Long, and Thanks For All the Fish

they are also by Dougles Adams, and are continuations (I think that't the right word) of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Also you should read Interesting Times by Terry Pratchet. It's pretty funny too.
