Both Chilean and Spanish. Ethnically? southern european, mostly mediterranean white, with a part of basque ascendance, plus maybe 1/16 of mapuche (ind... er, chilean native american) and a trail of jew. A fine mix. Posts: 253 | Registered: Tuesday, October 9 2001 07:00 |

quote:What the... !!!? (runs for a gun to shoot Desert Plah, then thinks about most the girls she befriends) Well, let's say "many girls". quote:Haven't seen any of those at a cinema. And I zap by instinct every time I see Jim Carrey's face (he's rather popular at Spain, don't ask me why) That said, I like many films, from Chaplin's Gold Rush to nowadays Hidalgo. Every time has its bunch of good movies, as well as of forgettable ones. I'm sure Carrey's films will survive (Jerry Lewis' did), but most of the crap currently in the front page won't. Hey, Sherlock Holmes, ask that girl in ten or twenty years about good films again. She may have changed her point of view by then. My first language is Spanish. I studied French and Latin at school, and a little German later. English is just something I use to read in my spare time, and I've only heard it at Oxford English cassettes and a few movies. But I've noticed the worst in grammar in these boards are we non English speakers, while the worst spelling is that of some native speakers ("Your soilders, wanna a mesion?") Nothing. At Spain the traditional day for "xmas" presents is January 6, the Epiphany celebration, though we call it "Día de Reyes" (Magis' Day). :) Posts: 253 | Registered: Tuesday, October 9 2001 07:00 |

What does 'American' mean for you? I was born in Chili, which is an american country, but for too many people 'America' means only 'U.S.A.'. Oh, and don't call 'North America' to the U.S.A. & Canada anglosaxon couple. Mexico is in North America too. Just too many people I know mistakes Latin America with South America. Oh, yeah... here's the fourth woman. [ Thursday, December 04, 2003 23:29: Message edited by: Mab ] Posts: 253 | Registered: Tuesday, October 9 2001 07:00 |

Literally? "Mortales cum acribus metallicis rerum pungimus". It would sound better if you change "metallicis rerum" (metal items) for "gladiis" (swords), though. [ Sunday, November 02, 2003 12:47: Message edited by: Mab ] Posts: 253 | Registered: Tuesday, October 9 2001 07:00 |

quote: Actually, it started as "We worship this only God, Who beats those pitiful gods of sinful Egyptians, Babylonians or Persians." quote: Southern Europe countries are acconfessional nowadays (safe the Vaticano Estate, of course ). The differences you note about Southern and Northern Europe are more related to the crags between Catholicism and Protestantism, as well as to certain political ways (i.e., the ballast of southern caciquism) that go back to pre-Roman times.
