Soon. I'd guess this month or next month, but it's a complete guess. It all depends on how difficult porting is and how many disasters are encountered during beta testing. —Alorael, who will resist the urge to mace a comment that could be reasonably turned into the acronym GAM even though it traditionally appears as a single word, often in boldface. I feel that JV should make the windows version ASAP. It's not fair that only us Mac-users should have to endure such a horrible pile of dreck. -------------------- * Posts: 6936 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

This question has benn answered so many times I've lost count. Jeff uses a Mac. Most SWers are Mac users. -------------------- ??? ?????? ???? ????? Posts: 883 | Registered: Wednesday, October 19 2005 07:00 |

I'm led to the belief that #2 is a result of the games coming out first for Mac which is a result of #1. -------------------- ??? ?????? ???? ????? Posts: 883 | Registered: Wednesday, October 19 2005 07:00 |

Jeff has said that the split is about 60-40 in favor of Windows. So the majority of his customers are Windows-users, but not by a lot. He just likes programming for Mac better, so he does that first. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Now that PPP data is at our fingertips, we could divide up all the threads and try to establish once and for all which FAQ is the most frequently asked. Any volunteers? —Alorael, who puts his money on Exile/Avernum/Geneforge onlne. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

"Now that PPP data is at our fingertips, we could divide up all the threads and try to establish once and for all which FAQ is the most frequently asked." That's a good one. And I think you're right. I have long ago lost count of how many people have requested an online/multiplayer version of my games. My answer: I'm not really interested in doing it. It would be an ENORMOUS undertaking. And I don't have the technical skill, coding-wise. And to answer the first question, barring flu, hospital visit, premature birth of my daughter, or untimely death, Avernum 4 for Windows should be out at the very beginning of March. - Jeff Vogel -------------------- Official Board Admin spidweb@spiderwebsoftware.com Posts: 960 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

Yah, keep up the good work Jeff. And if you ever do start on a multiplayer game, we know it'll be awsome like all the others. Posts: 49 | Registered: Friday, February 18 2005 08:00 |

I can't wait 'til March gets here either. The first one I played was Exile 2 and I've been hooked since. Keep up the good work. Posts: 7 | Registered: Wednesday, February 15 2006 08:00 |

I began with Exile 2 too. It's still my favorite spiderweb game, especialy for its plot, even if I love the many options in character's developpement Avernum brought us. I am away from my computer next week, so I will have one less week to wait for Avernum_4 :) :) . Posts: 70 | Registered: Thursday, February 16 2006 08:00 |

Well, if everyone up to 5000 had 1000 posts, all together that would be almost as much as Alorael, which is absurd. Therefore there must be many low-numbered members with surprisingly low post counts. -------------------- We're not doing cool. We're doing pretty. The surprise isn't low number oldbies. They're called invisible The surprise is when they return to post again a few years later. That means two things: they're still using the same browser on the same computer with the same cookies, and Arctic didn't eat them. —Alorael, who would never dare underestimate the impact of the latter.
