RC's been sending me the newest versions of your "scenario", so yeah, I'm still "testing."

Also, my report was far nastier before. I felt it was pure evil, however, so I took off some of the sad facts, and sent.

It wasn't meant to be that insulting, though, as I stated in one of the previous posts of mine. It was that nasty just to get you reconsider releasing this masterpiece.

But meh, you said you're re-drawing the towns, fixing the bugs, I'm quite willing to help you. ..this just might turn into a real scenario, after all.

Oh, and just came to my mind, I actually *could* help you re-draw the towns. I could draw them, send to you, after which all you'd have to do is to set the scripts as they should.

See, I was thinking of BoE-editor-styley all the time. With BoA, it's easier. :)

1) Raised Wall -- Skeletons
2) First Tower -- "Everything annoying under the Sun" fits quite well.
3) Winding Wall -- Ruby Skeletons.
4) The Bridge -- Ummmmmmm................ I remember an Efreet and a Shade(the green kind)..... And I think there was one other moster.......
5) The Vahnatai Pit -- Shades(the dark purple kind)

- Rentar-Inhro added (you get to kill her if you want to)

- certain typos fixed (The Vahnatai locked door)

- More monsters and bridge space in 'Bridge'

- Hidden City's items not quite fixed (Some work though)

- First Tower survived after today's disaster

- Whole set of New monsters

- Bladesmaster Sword = 26-1960 damage. (Lose it after scenario)

- Added lever traps etc.

- Leverscript working now

- One SUPER Nasty trap added in Wall of Warriors

- Dragon Zombies and Icewind Skeletons in Pit of the Vahnatai

- Ur-Basilisks, Efreets, and Altered Bug in 'BRIDGE'

- Hidden City entrance system works

- You can receive Quests in Small cave

- most people can talk in small cave

- Rentar Ihnro has her own script (A basic copy of Vahkohs' script)

- Winding Wall has Foul Sekeletons, Icewind Skeletons etc alongside the Ruby Skeletons

- Small cave now starts off with a Vampiric Hraithe instead of a vampire

- Wall : Skeleton javelineers are interspersed amongst the skeletons.

- Outdoor wandering monsters have less monsters, but stronger

- Outdoor scenery still not masterpiece, but TINY bit better

- Overall stats : All undead are stronger.

If there's anything I missed out in the upgrades that you suggested, please tell me so, and I will see if it should be put in or not.

EDIT : And TGM, if you want to draw me a decent Pixie Forest glade I would be happy to accept it for my scenario. I have a woodcutter who thinks there are pixies in a glade. He believes they are helping the Undaed. (You have to kill them all etc.) I don't care how it looks, so long as it has one place for a mystic control panel device thingy.

EDIT 2 : Forgot to say. Town has to be number 12 or over, else I can't integrate it.

EDIT 3 : I've decided... If anyone has any idea how to make my scenario better - what I should have in it, etc, I would like to know. I want my scenario to be good, So please help by givin me your helpful ideas!!!!!

ETIT 4 : And yes, it has RENTAR IHNRO in it. It used to just be Vahnatai Lord (Who was meant to be rentar Ihnro all along), but now it has Rentar's shade, and Rentar Ihnro. Rentar-Ihnro haters, all you have to do is kill her :D . It's not THAT hard, not with the bladesmaster sword.

Could you perhaps actually have text in it? All I really see is combat. A plot would be nice, too.

Also, the overuse of Magically Locked doors should be cut out. I almost had no spell points left after the first tower. You should also rearrange the town entry points and exit points. In the Vahnatai Wall, I could escape town by going north and then I'd be forever stuck.

Your outdoors seriously need to be redone...all of your town designs and mostly everything.

The biggest glaring bug(well, it's not so much a 'bug' as it is a 'ommited piece of stuff') I've seen so far is this

My opinion of the Dragon Zombies:

They need to be a purple-y red color instead of green, and they have too much HP. They killed my lvl 93 Nephil Rouge.

I did not encounter any errors in downloading the third version of the scenario, and while its better, it still has a long way to go :) . A plot would be greatly appreciated.

(This post is in response to a request from the designer made after a conversation on AIM.)

Hookay, relevant articles from the Designer's Forum.

Dungeon Design, by Alcritas -- I'm guessing this is directly relevant.

Vahnatai - Friend or Foe? by Drakefyre -- vahnatai evil villain types have been done in the past. OFTEN. And they get old really darn quickly.

Tell a Good Story by Drizzt -- on plot. Since I gather your scen has no plot, er, this might be a nice place to start to make one.

The Evolving Role of Dungeons by Drizzt -- just another reminder that mindless killing is not great scenario material.

From the Scenario Workshop:
Common Mistakes in Scenario Design by Jeff Vogel -- see "the big room syndrome."

Basic But Vital Tips by TM -- for instance, "Limit your combat."

Probably a long, detailed trip to the Lyceum, where BoE has happened for the past six years, would be instructive. Also a good, long look through the articles in the Scenario Workshop and its BoE equivalent would probably do some good. For the BoE articles, you can avoid the more technical specifics, but the articles cited above and several others detail general theory that is just as applicable to BoA as BoE.

EDIT: And please, edit that previous message to take out a few of the O's to prevent board stretching.

Was searching through your scenario data.

Most of your Vahnatai Slings can never work - they're lacking an it_variety and a it_damage_per_level. Same with the Sling of the Hidden City.

I don't really think your Hidden City Baton would work right. It's based off the Cursed Javelin and has a -3 level bonus?

Hidden City Boots are cursed?

Blademaster's Sword doesn't start with a clear; statement, so it imports the data of the Vahnatai Knowledge Brew, which means that it can be used as a +5 skill points potion.
