You got a politician trying anything to clear his name so he can stay in power. This is getting to be a stretch since while you should have reasonable expectations of privacy within the stall, when you interact with the next stall you are no longer private.

I think it takes a big man to admit that he made a mistake.

This is the biggest load of bull crap I've ever heard of! If he was sooo innocent, then why did he ever plead guilty to begin with.
How anyone could have any expectation of privacy in a public place is beyond me, even if the stall door is closed.
There is a proper place to engage in proper activities and a public bathroom is not the proper place to engage in any sexual activities.

I still think that the most bewildering part of this was how the policeman "recognized" the "signals".

It was a sting operation. That particular public restroom was known by police to be a hangout for men seeking gay sex. An undercover officer was sent in there to wait around for people to solicit him for sex so he could arrest them.

The signals are easy to find out on the internet. Give the police some credit.

And here we have Idaho. I wrote a paper about this back when it broke last year. Ol' conservative Idaho doesn't have such a conservated senator it looks like, real suprise for the hard core righties out here. But in Craigs behalf, he has done a rather good job as senator

If you gotta do it, DO IT IN YOUR HOME/HOME BATHROOM! I don't get why people would do it in a public place.

The ACLU cracks me up. Civil rights groups almost seem silly these days.

Before reading the article, I thought having sex in a stall would be illegal. I mean, some people don't want to hear that when they're relieving themselves.

I think the inverse is even more true, but that could just be me.

It's not just you. Nalyd means, as long as there's background noise anyway. . .

Time to bring out the cluebat, Randomizer. :P

Although I did check to make sure it didn't exist. I haven't memorized all the CCTLDs, and there might have been some obscure island kingdom named Offal. But on checking the reference .of is not assigned to any nation.

Well, it's kind of hard to explain to your wife if she walks in on you at home.

If you want to talk about things that are silly, how about sending police officers to camp out for hours in public toilets waiting for someone to make sexual advances toward them? Surely they have better things to do.

for the first one:Their is an old saying get a room. A motel or something I believe public decency laws go into effect or something.

As far as a police officer sitting in a bathroom waiting to be solicited for gay sex it sounds like similar operations where a female cop will pretend to be a hooker to catch those guys who solicited female hookers for sex.

I'm willing to be open to the idea of gay marriages being legal however it shouldn't be an excuse to disobey public decency laws. I'm also willing to accept these kinds of incendents are about even among homosexuals and heterosexuals.

Yeah, so the bathroom sting is a little odd. Most times that sort of cop behavior involves watching a lot of legal activity (drivers) and occasionally stops the illegal. Hanging about hoping for one type of behaviour seems a bit odd, unless they had a huge backlog of complaints from that restroom. And since Larry knew he could get him some there, it seems likely that that spot is well known.

So, congrats to the cops for responding to a complaint, and congrats for not burying a case just because the guy is a Senator.

That makes no sense. Not everyone has a wife.

The point here is that Senator Craig did have a wife.

When the female cop catches guys trying to solicit male hookers, hilarity ensues.

—Alorael, who imagines that getting arrested for soliciting a prostitute is bad. Getting arrested and laughed at for doing it incompetently must be worse.
