If you are a citizen of the United States, and of voting age, and aren't totally jaded by the political process, you might have noticed that there has been a recent increase in the quantity (not quality) of political advertisements and punditry. This is NOT by accident. It seems that every November there is a special Tuesday on which we gather for mass meaningless approbation (except for the vote-by-mail people, and Oregon.) In light of the upcoming event, I though it would be fitting to whip out the old "Political Compass," give it a quick polish, a spit shine, and present it to you for inspection. Go ahead, take the test, and post your results. At some point the thread can degenerate into hysteria and name-calling, but let's try to keep page 1 on topic. ... If you can't read English, and still want to take the test, try here. -------------------- Vogel - "10% off on all of [our] products for the month of October. ... this discount applies to games, CDs, bundles, and even already discounted products." Economic Left/Right: -6.12 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.23 This puts me pretty much smack-dab dead center in the left lower quadrant. I'd import the picture, but, well -- I have no idea how (but if anyone's got a hint?...) Does this mean I have to vote for Hillary? *sobbing softly* Posts: 7 | Registered: Friday, October 4 2002 07:00 |

Economic Rating: -2.62 (Left) Social Rating: -3.38 (Left) If you must see the chart to understand, look here. Personally, I think I applied my own views on what I would do in said situation. My ideal society operates under "Live and Let Live", where you and everyone else is free to do whatever they wish as long as it's not detrimental to other peoples lives, such as murder. Also, economically, I follow New Socialism, in which certain industries (water treatment, defense, electrical production, etc.) are nationalised so they may be properly used by the gov't, while the rest (the media, software production, etc.) are left to the Social Democratic world of capitalism. It really strikes a balance I think, and is totally compatable with a governmental system like the United States. EDIT: You don't have to vote for anyone at all. If you don't want to vote for Hilary, don't. [ Thursday, October 11, 2007 13:00: Message edited by: Arrogantking ] -------------------- GIFTS of the World, Unite! As a public service I have plotted my progress over time. 2005 (First) -4.25, -2.62 2005 (Second) -3.38, -2.62 2007 (Current) -3.00, -1.74 This means I will be unsatisfied by the upcoming election. -------------------- Vogel - "10% off on all of [our] products for the month of October. ... this discount applies to games, CDs, bundles, and even already discounted products." Most of my questions were maths. Some were physics, but those seem to pop up in every test. -------------------- Vogel - "10% off on all of [our] products for the month of October. ... this discount applies to games, CDs, bundles, and even already discounted products." Curiously, I seem to have failed to participate in any previous political polling, though I vividly remember doing it at least once before. Around the time of the True Neutral test I believe and I remember being very close to the middle but a little to the right and down. Edit: Remembering more. It was less than 1 to the right and exactly 0 for L/A, I'm sure of it... well, mostly sure... as sure as I can be... um. Much to my surprise this is my result for today: Economic Left/Right: -3.88 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.31 I think you guys must be rubbing off on me. ;) Is that a good thing? It's more likely that your children have rubbed off on you. If it was any of us, be sure to shower and then notify CDC. Economic Left/Right: -5.62 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.95 I'll see if I can compile a massive graph with everyone who takes the poll on it. It'd be interesting to see the overall view on Spiderweb. -------------------- Scenarios need reviews! Please rate these scenarios at the CSR after playing them! It might be easiest to just include the light green section. I would guess that it is the storyline of Exile which determined the fate of Jeff's clientèle. But good luck with the graphing, make sure to include historical info as well. -------------------- Vogel - "10% off on all of [our] products for the month of October. ... this discount applies to games, CDs, bundles, and even already discounted products." Here's such a graph so far: (I'll just change this one as more people provide data, for my own amusement, if nothing else.) -------------------- Überraschung des Dosenöffners! "On guard, you musty sofa!" Posts: 627 | Registered: Monday, March 7 2005 08:00 |

That would be interesting, and I predict a moderate liberal concentration, most people being somewhere in the bottom left quadrant. Now, is there going to be any debating or are we just going to post our scores? -------------------- Cheeseballs of the World, Unite! Follow Dear Leader Cheeseball 2, Avenge Cheeseball! -7.12, -7.85 —Alorael, who has moved economically right a bit, back to an earlier position. He's hovered around -8 socially for a long time now. He also feels much more competent to opine about social issues than economic ones, which may account for the drift and stability of those axes, respectively.
