I said this on the Futures of Geneforge thread, but I shall repeat myself. There's no point in arguing over spelling and grammar.Using your personality book against someone would hold far more weight if anyone here even understood what that's about. -------------------- I tried to think of something witty to put here. Turns out I've been getting schooled by someone a year younger. If anybody else ruins the age defense for me I think I'll just kick myself in the crotch and get it over with. I am wondering if there is anyone besides Jeffy, Salmon, and myself active on this board who is thirty-something. You know—us ancient, cranky, over the hill, never quite grew up sort of people. I also wonder if there is someone even older lurking around. -S- -------------------- A4 Item Locations A4 Singleton G4 Items List G4 Forging List The Insidious Infiltrator Posts: 2009 | Registered: Monday, September 12 2005 07:00 |

quote:I may be ancient and cranky, but, but, who are you again? I think there are older, reputedly Fenwik is wicked old and ef is gracefully aged. And I would hardly consider Jeffy to be active on these boards. For that matter, you seem to have grown some sort of life yourself. What gives? -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

quote:What gives is that I may be dangerously close to growing up finally. Changing careers to something you truly love and which energizes you in the middle of your life, and at the same time actively pursuing dating successfully could do that to a person. God, I might even eventually get myself married off yet. If it weren't for Jeff beguiling me like a wickedly sly drug pusher with the offer to beta-test G4 recently, I might have gone off the brink into respectable and responsible behavior entirely. -S- [ Wednesday, October 25, 2006 18:10: Message edited by: Synergy ] -------------------- A4 Item Locations A4 Singleton G4 Items List G4 Forging List The Insidious Infiltrator Posts: 2009 | Registered: Monday, September 12 2005 07:00 |

I receive those comments graciously and with due thanks to their authors. I appreciate it. I do not remember exactly, but I am pretty sure that some of the older members knew of my age around the time when I first registered. Back then my PDN was Keep, from which derives Garrison. The sarcastic remark, by the way, was supposed to be a balancing post of mine in support of Tully since I had admonished him earlier; yet for some reason, I did not want to put my seal of grammar on it at the time. Anyway, what really fascinates me is how these message boards became a place for the occasional in depth rational discussion in the first place. EDIT: To Salmon: Yes, I was being like totally sarcastic. To Lazarus: Avernumscript comes very easily if you know C or have ever tried to script anything useful before. Knowledge about computers came as a necessity because when I got my Windows XP computer, either I had to secure and configure everything or no one would have. quote:There are some older adults here, just not very many of them. Saunders and SoT are the only other currently active ones I can think about. If it makes you feel better, my father also plays these games and he is over 50. (Although he doesn't use internet much.) EDIT: Saunders, Student of Trinity, Salmon, Synergy... is there some sort of deeper wisdom that makes people start their names with the letter S?
