Well Ralph, it's time to say goodbye. For real, this time.

The last fourteen years have been wild. We'll remember with fondness your taste in fine cuisine (mmm... pancakes and pie), the humour you brought to the First Ministers meetings, and... oh yeah, making us filthy rich.

But it's time for you to go. Oh, it's not you, it's us. We're just not ready for your enlightened policies, such as your... erm... unorthodox methods of distributing funds to the financially challenged. There's no sense in making a long goodbye; it's best to make it a clean cut. Who knows? Next year perhaps we can celebrate your legacy somehow, maybe with autographed golf balls or something.

And remember: don't think of it as 55% confidence. Think of it as 55 Proof.

"oh yeah, making us filthy rich."

I seriously doubt Ralph put the oil in the sand. Go to hell Alberta. Just joking. I'm tired of this motherfking oil in this motherfking Province. Snakes on what plane.

BTW that movie is terrible.

Edit: And man WTF who's gonna know who Ralph Klein is besides the handful of Canadian? Talk about limited audience!

Dissention within the ranks will only make Canada that much easier to annex...

It hasn't been annexed already? I thought Bush issued an executive order to do so in the name of national security to get all those terrorists hiding up there.

You're thinking of the hit comedy (and I use the term lightly) "Operation Canadian Bacon", the John Candy film.

That said, you guys have got one huge den of vipers sitting to the north of ya...

(Dislaimer: the author does not feel any resentment, nor bear any bad will, towards the Canadian people.)

Edit: Why isn't this a Elvis conspiracy thread yet?

Although not, unfortunately, by the agency of a crocodile.

His death was unusual and ill-fated. He was too young to die though statistically speaking he probably should have died several times over by now.

The sad thing is that stringrays usually mind their own business unless provoked. And this is the first time I have ever heard of someone being stabbed in the heart by one.

I wonder how many people die by stingray accidents each year?

:Edit: I found out. As of 1996, only 17 people have died by stingray. Thanks Wikipedia!

While you were on Wikipedia, did you see if they finally agreed on whether the Stingray article should mention Irwin? The debate was... heated last I checked.

My mother told me about it this morning when she read it online. It's a real shame. I watched his shows on Animal Planet.

Actually I always figured Irwin for the type that you expected to die early, but you hear about when you're all old and stuff...

Crocodile Hunter is only the second Australian to die by Stingray.

And hooray for Klien. He made national politics interesting as he didn't always side with the conservatives. Biggest problem? Can't plan for the future.

I can't believe Irwin died... which is to say, I rather expected him to die in a rather unusual way, just not so soon. Something like "wrestling with an alligator at the age of 92".

And now, a 'crikey' of respect and loss.

Crikey.

From the way people acted, you'd have thought Steve Irwin was a politician or presidential candidate. :P
