I used to collect coins. Whenever there was something different on a 50 cent or a $1 coin I'd keep it and I would be trying to get any other coin that wasn't your everyday coin. -------------------- When you think you can't get any lower in life and hit rock bottom, God hands you a shovel. quote:Actually, it's barely around 22 MB in total. I type a lot, but text doesn't take much space. No more than a megabyte a month, usually a little more than half. At that rate, I can do it for the rest of my life with the same hard drive. Edit: even less than I thought. Originally by Dintiradan: quote:Now, that was obviously a joke, but Mr. Bookworm needs a refresher course on my gimmick too. I am allowed to talk in first person in my posts. Really. As long as one paragraph (almost always the last one) is in third person (even if it's just my name), I'm good. You can talk in whatever person you wants for the other paragraphs! Dikiyoba is just tired of all these false alarms. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

I used to collect wine corks. Then I realized that I had an enormous bowl full of corks and I got strange looks when I asked for the cork whenever anyone nearby had a bottle of wine. —Alorael, who probably still has those corks somewhere. He should try to do something productive with them. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

I used to collect pens, but nowadays I collect obscure sixties and seventies psychedelic, art-rock and prog-rock music. Sometimes even legally, when I have the money and an album is rare enough to be impossible to download. -------------------- Stughalf "Delusion arises from anger. The mind is bewildered by delusion. quote:I've seen realy neat bulletin boards (not the internet kind) made out of wine corks cut lengthwise and glued onto a piece of particle board. As for my collections, I collect capacitors from broken electronics. I don't reuse them, I just like the way they look. I also collected Decipher's Star Wars CCG cards, until the license was taken away and given to WotC, who made a crappy game. Anyway, I have about 800 of those, including a couple that are supposed to be worth 30 buck and up. -------------------- "As our circle of knowledge expands, so does the circumference of darkness surrounding it." --Albert Einstein -------------------- Posts: 536 | Registered: Sunday, September 7 2003 07:00 |

I have a small collection of movie tickes and ceramic unicorns (3). Would you count making pipcleaner models and keeping them a collection? If so, I have at least 15. But my real collection lies in model gundams and Zoids. I have 13 and hope to get one more soon. They are too expensive to buy a lot of. And there's my plastic cat collection consisting of 24 happy felines. And there's my miniature padlock collection. (4) And I collect Atari 2600 games. If anyone hase any unusual titles, let me know. :) And to finish it off, I also collect K'nex. I don't want to count all the pieces. -------------------- You acquire an item: Radio Free Foil Posts: 1169 | Registered: Monday, September 23 2002 07:00 |

quote:My sister collects movie tickets as well - even of movies she never went to. I remember seeing a ticket to Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy among the ones pinned to her wall, and because I didn't think that was her genre I asked when she'd been there and how she'd liked it. Never, she replied; it was my ticket. :P -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. Just the usual: books, CDs, DVDs, postcards, train timetables and maps, every ticket or receipt I've ever had, shoeboxes in which to keep the latter. That's about it, really - everything else I tend to dispose of when it's no longer required. -------------------- "I can't read this thread with that image. I try not to keep anything around either - I don't like being encumbered by things. Generally, I've found this to be a great life policy - it certainly has made moving much easier, which is something I've done a lot of in my 20s. The downside is that I've repurchased a few CDs I thought I was over a couple times now, including Siamese Dream and Weezer's blue album. Posts: 2242 | Registered: Saturday, April 10 2004 07:00 |

I like to collect entire series of books, so I won’t have to rely on the library if I’m bored one day. And I collect a lot of web pages, mostly for offline viewing. I’ve got web pages here dating back to '01 so I can feel nostalgic. Good times. -------------------- "I liked white better." Posts: 771 | Registered: Tuesday, December 11 2001 08:00 |
