Someone remember this interview? Is a little old, in fact, but I seen this only now:

quote:
Jeff Vogel: [...]
I may get a 360 though, in case I try to write my casual role-playing game to go on Xbox live...
This project is still alive? I mean, SW will create a role-play game for the Microsoft?

It says "in case". In all likelyhood, it was pure speculation or possibly a joke.

Far more likely is that Jeff wants to play a game. I hear the 360 has decent graphics.

Yeah, it's the same sort of thing as when school choirs go to Disney World to "perform."

Ok, thanks.

Anyway, what do you think of that?

There is no way in hell I will ever buy, use or otherwise get in contact with a game console (let alone an Xbox), so I don't have any input to offer there.

That can't be an original box... the Seal of Quality wasn't around at first. And where's my SMB1/Duck Hunt split cartridge? :P

Wonderful game... I still have it... :D
On a not-original console, though.

You know, seeing the NES box makes a guy think...
it looks so 70's.
Ah... ultimate video action... all thy cared about was the fact that they could... no need for plot of fancy graphics... and it was either that, pong, or atari at first.

And now we have PS3 (eventually) and XBox 360 and the Wii. And the graphics and processor races. And companies switching platform loyalties (fie upon microsoft for screwing up perfect dark).
The only good that comes from such things?
Super Smash Brothers and Final Fantasy. And Metroid and LoZ. Occasionally.

That new Wii thing just sounds crazy. It sounds like some kind of gateway to Nintendo crossing over to, like, virtual reality or something, from what I've heard about it (translation: my little brother quoting "Nintendo Power" magazine at me :D ).

Speaking of Final Fantasy, isn't the new one coming out this fall?

Nintendo Power is not an objective source of information on Nintendo products.

If you can call it Final Fantasy. I refuse to associate anything with the combat style of the abomination known as Kingdom Hearts with the Final Fantasy Franchise. In my mind, Final Fantasy stopped with X and probably should have stopped with IX.

To get back on topic, I don't think he would create a game for the X Box. It wouldn't work right on that console. Plus it would require too much work and he would need to live up to the graphics of the X Box. I like the graphics just fine the way they are and the gameplay is what's important.

Jeff could probably create a killer game for Live Arcade.

And in my mind, Final Fantasy stopped with 7 and probably should have stopped with 6. But hey.

I do think choosing the name "Wii" was a horrendous, abominable marketing decision. But doesn't Nintendo go on these "virtual reality" kicks every few years? Does anyone else remember the Virtual Boy? Now that was a bomb.

*shudder* Kingdom Hearts. It surprised me that that was "Final Fantasy" at all. I mean, Disney characters?! No wonder I never play Playstation games. >>;
