Many thanks.

Horewer, I'm not intersted to buy the Xbox 360; I like the Halo series though, but I have the Xbox for only one year.

The xbox 360 is seeming like an ever better deal when compared with the announced price of the PS3 - $500 - zoinks!

Not that I'll be getting either of them, though. I'm afraid my gaming days are near numbered. Yeehaw marriage! :(

Everyone always talks about how expensive the newest consoles are, but they always seem to forget that they are composed of top-of-the-line computer hardware.

I mean, look at the specs for the CPU:
PowerPC-base Core @3.2GHz
1 VMX vector unit per core
512KB L2 cache
7 x SPE @3.2GHz
7 x 128b 128 SIMD GPRs
7 x 256KB SRAM for SPE
* 1 of 8 SPEs reserved for redundancy
Total floating point performance: 218 GFLOPS

The GPU:
1.8 TFLOPS floating point performance
Full HD (up to 1080p) x 2 channels
Multi-way programmable parallel floating point shader pipelines

The Memory:
256MB XDR Main RAM @3.2GHz
256MB GDDR3 VRAM @700MHz

That's some pretty high-tech stuff. Add that to the fact that the PS3 will play all PS and PS2 games. The Xbox 360 only pays lip service to backwards compatablity.

Halo, while not as good as everyone says it is, is still on of the best FPSs out there. They also need to bulk up the Chief some more. I'll probably get it, but the real reason I'm getting a 360 is the upcoming Bioware game, Mass Effect.

Hello, John. It's great to see you again. When does Doom 4 come out?

Look, people. I didn't say it was the BEST FPS of all time. I just said I liked it a lot, and it was one of the best FPS games I've played. Goldeneye's great to, though.

Oh yea, Goldeneye. It's been a long time since I've seen that game. Absolutely brilliant. Halo is ok I suppose, but you can't beat a classic.

Goldeneye is indeed a decent FPS (even though I unilaterally hate the genre).

But Goldeneye should've NEVER been an FPS. What were they thinking? He's a goddamned SPY!

On whose authority do you proclaim that the FPS genre does not hate you?

—Alorael, who certainly knows that it hates him. The feeling is cheerfully reciprocated.

I would think that a sniper like you would enjoy a good FPS from time to time. :P

But doesn't FPS stand for "First Person Shooter"? Wouldn't Alorael be more comfortable with a "Third Person Sniper" game?

Unfortunately, such games have a limited market, so they are very hard to find.

I'm not really all that accustomed to targets who know I'm aiming at them and I'm definitely unfamiliar with targets who shoot back.

—Alorael, who gets enough sniping in his daily life. Games are for escapism, not practice.

In the trailer, you see a gigantic structure opening up like a flower. What do you think it is? A new Forerunner artifact? A Halo-esque installation, complete with Flood?
Also, where do you think the Chief was? Earth? Some disttant planet?

If you bothered to read the text about Halo 3 at the site it say's that he is at earth.
And that thing that opens up like a flower is an ancient artifact apparantly.
