The other religion thread made me think of this.

What would your ideal afterlife be like? Be as detailed or general as you like.

I'll refrain from posting any more about my ideas than I've already posted in the other thread until there are a fair amount of replies.

The reason for this thread? So I can incorporate your ideas into my super-religion. BWAHAHAHAHA

This isn't an answer to the question, but does anyone else remember the "afterlife" in TaskMaker? If you died, it wasn't game over; you just went to Hell.

I found the afterlife in Tomb of the Taskmaker really entertaining. IIRC, there were four puzzles/challenges, and you had to complete one of them each time you died.

(XD That's pretty funny.)
My ideal afterlife would incorporate lots of thought, and existence in general. So it would be like living forever, just going somewhere else at a certain point. The main reason for my fear of death (probably most people's, come to think of it) is ceasing to exist– never being able to think about anything again, or experience things like music. So that would take the death out of death. XD

A C, an E-flat, and a G walk into the Tower of the Magi.
Ambrin walks up to them and says, "Hey! It's the Triad!"
Kelner snorts and says, "Pretty minor Triad if you ask me."

From what I hear, no one would want a different afterlife than heaven.

When you say "heaven", what do you mean? What do you envision?

Personally I think you just rot in the ground after death, but ideally I'd be in an endless forest that never gets warmer than 50 degrees (F) and is full of lovely wolves and foxes. Nothing with more than 4 legs would exist and there would be a giant CompUSA in a clearing, all technology would be free. :D

I don't believe in an afterlife. To me, when we die, that's it. End. Fin.

But I would like to think there's some eternal war being waged between heaven and hell that determines the fate of all our souls. That could make a cool video game, actually...

My ideal afterlife would be one where I could sit at a computer forever, and that computer would have every worthwhile computer game, and enough space and memory to support it, and the best graphics cards, sound cards, etc. And I would never get tired, never get a headache, my eyes would never deteriorate.

I completely concur with you. Plus a nice, comfortable executive chair, and free drinks of my choice.

Ideal after life…hmmm. All my fantasies coming to life good ones and very very dark ones. I want all of my questions about the universe answered (if the answer is 42 I am gona be pissed) I want to know everything there is to know about everything remotely interesting to me. After everything becomes boring I want my memory wiped clean, sent to earth (reincarnate as a normal non dysfunctional person) and do it all again. When I die again I should not remember about what happened b4 I was reborn so I can ask the same questions over and over again for all eternity and be entertained.

My honest answer, enlightenment, but I'm not even going to try to explain what that is :P

As for all my worldly desires coming to be. I would like all my friends, loved ones, and pets to be with me. All my favorite foods and drinks manifesting whenever I think of them, an endless supply of Skribbane (and "cookies"), every book ever written/ever will be written, a complete knowledge of all the world's wisdom, a computer of course, and a few things that would violate the code of conduct to mention. :P

Why do u guys want a computer? You can wish for anything you want. Instead of playing an adventurer you can be an adventurer. Instead playing around with on army on the screen you can lead the army in person. You can fly any jet you want in a dog fight!!! Some of you might say that being an adventurer would be a pain kos of the long traveling distances but this is your fantasy just wish for a teleported to anywhere or an uber fast horse. Hell I would defiantly load up and hunt my self some krauts and if I shell be mortally wounded I would just reappear and do it all over again.

If an afterlife did exist, I doubt it would be anything like we could experience here on Earth. Would we even have a body or form? Or would we be an ethereal being that could interact with the material world? How would information be transmitted from one being to another? Would there even be light or sound (in other words are there electromagnetic waves or molecules to transmit vibrations)?

I would say it would be so radically different that I doubt we even have mechanisms for understanding. The words to describe such things would not exist.

I thought this was more about what you want it to be….isn’t it??? So don’t write about what you think it will be like and write about what u want it to be like.

Yes, the question was an ideal afterlife. However, my questions are a bit deeper as to what would the nature of an afterlife be. Dream as I want, I'd find it more interesting to discuss meaningless hypotheticals on what the afterlife could be like.

This is way too difficult considering we don’t have anything to relate it too. I guess it would be something made completely out of some form of strange energy nothing of matter present. Some sort of telepathic communication capability perhaps ability to generate energy like radio waves. Ok u see this is the problem I am trying to use science to explain this stuff and for all we know this might take place in a parallel universe where the laws of everything are totally different. So it can be anything!!! No one can make a statement that will seem more probable than another.

Now that I identify with. It can be six if necessary, as long as it's less than eight. :P

The ideal afterlife, for me, would involve being able to communicate with the living world, and able to use technology. I think the best thing would be to become a ghost haunting the internet. :D

I personally feel that getting shot in a game is far more fun than getting shot in real life ever will be.

But in the after life neither can you feel pain nor die again. How would it be if the after life, the ground would be filled up with more dead bodies, although it would be fun to be reincarnates in the after life when you have been "killed."

Putting aside all my beliefs of whether there is an afterlife or not, my ideal one would be where I could do anything I wanted.

I want ice cream? *snap my fingers* Free ice cream. I want to wander the earth as an invisible ghost? *snap* I want to communicate with other dead people? *snap* I want to be in a neverending soccer game? *snap*

Basically, it would be where there were no preset rules, other than perhaps occupees not harming each other, and we could just do whatever we wanted, forever.
