After enjoying the Blades chats immensely and having some random unplanned chats with other board members, I am proposing what may be the greatest idea since Jeff Vogel designed a game depicting the struggle between the Romans and the Celts. Would anyone else here be interested in a Spiderweb General Chat? I'm proposing tomorrow at 10 PM EST (apologies to those in different time zones) for an informal discussion of whatever anyone wants to to talk about. I hope to see many of you on AIM in a chatroom named "spidweb". Who's up for it?

Sounds good to me, especially as the Blades chats do seem to devolve at times. I'll be there if I can.

Sure, I'll be there. It's on my time zone, and hey if I was on a blades chat, then I see no problem with being on a General Chat. As far as I know, Blades Chat do turn into General Chats after the first couple of hours. It'll be interesting to see the conversation topics, and the people blocking and unblocking each other.

Sooner than that, usually. Although there usually a few attempts to bring the discussion back on topic.

Usually, the second anyone says Blades of Exile, it's as good as gone...

I'll try and be there tomorrow, but I make no promises. I've got a comedy show that might run long... and afterparty details are sketchy at post time.

Your stupidity speaks for itself, but I feel like joining in regardless.

I was merely implying that Jeff has not made anything original since Nethergate, TM.

Sounds good, but, if there were to be another chat like this, could it be about 7 hours earlier, please?

Fun, although I don't think I could make it at 5 am on a Sunday.

Given that General already makes up between 75-80% of Spiderweb postage, unlike BoA, which makes up around 5%, I really don't see the point for this chat.
The BoA chat seems necessary because communication is otherwise so slow, but don't we hang around enough on General that we don't need additional gatherings?

Ah well, I'll be there I guess. :)

Edit: This might fit here, since it's about General.

Say, Drakey, how would you react to a proposal that html be re-enabled here? I was browsing the archives and saw that last time this happened, much fun was had by all. :D

I guess not.

It's better than pathetically re-loading the SW page again and again and again.

Original ≠ great, you buggerlicious postmodernist.

It'll probably be a horrible chat, but if I'm around (and remember), I'll join.

I use Google Reader and a feed to stay on top of things. No ocd-induced page-reloading for me, yay! :)

I'll be out shooting mofos in the face.

Or the laser-sensitive vest.

One of the two.

...I'll check in when I get back and see if it's still going on, but last time I joined a Spiderweb chat, it ended badly...

It's way too late I'm afraid/pleased to announce. And whilst I probably will be awake at 3am, I'm going to be nowhere near a computing terminal.

Terribly sorry old boys, and all that palava.

May a lotus spring forth from your navel and a palm grow from your face!

—Alorael, who may or may not be present. His chances of appearing (and staying silent, in all likelihood) are directly proportional to the resemblance of the chatroom's name to Room 3.

It'd be 4 AM for me, until which I will try to get some sleep (5 hours).

Incidentally, nobody will keep you from joining early. I'll be idling in the room from now until then, probably, so I don't forget.

Did they make you want to scream and cry and hide in your room forever?

Must have just been me, then.
