After reading a poll about Russian composers who weren't Russian. Well somehow it lead me to create a poll about how you think the most important man is. So stop reading this, and vote on my poll :D Poll Information This poll contains 1 question(s). 40 user(s) have voted. You may not view the results of this poll without voting. function launch_voter () { launch_window("http://www.ironycentral.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=poll;d=vote;pollid=xJPfsdEhgDOH"); return true; } // end launch_voter function launch_viewer () { launch_window("http://www.ironycentral.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=poll;d=view;pollid=xJPfsdEhgDOH"); return true; } // end launch_viewer function launch_window (url) { preview = window.open( url, "preview", "width=550,height=300,toolbar=no,location=no,directories=no,status,menubar=no,scrollbars,resizable,copyhistory=no" ); window.preview.focus(); return preview; } // end launch_window -------------------- Constitutional monarchies are the in monarchies. There is no need to be so non-homosexually gay about this. That said, Osama Ben Laddin, being the only guy I don't know and possibly being related to Aladdin/Jesus. Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Your statement has two possible meanings, both of which have interesting implications. 1. Osama bin Laden is the only one you don't know personally. This means you do know the others personally. Including Jesus. 2. You don't know who Osama bin Laden is, and therefore may be located under a rock, or at least isolated from all major news sources including the internet. —Alorael, who is as popular as Jesus right now. quote:More so now I have voted. You might wanna consider starting some kind of cult/religion/sect. If only there was a difference between them... or is there, and I'm not seeing it? It'll probably be really subtle. Or not. So really, why this poll? It has nothing to do with non-Russian Russian composers... -------------------- And when you want to Live How do you start? I, Richard White character, do not deserve a cult of my own. My implants belong to the true creator, and I will await his second coming (or his having been here the whole time, but only after a certain point, as the case may be) with faith, piety, and implants. —Alorael, who will, however, accept any donations or oaths of eternal servitude on behalf of the cult. Free implants every Thursday, except when they aren't free or aren't given out on Thursday! Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

quote:Uh, no. Great books and all, but no. I had to default to Alorael here, but this poll is generally terrible. I mean, nobody from outside of either Spidweb itself or U.S. christian-centered pop culture... so its egocentric and ethnocentric at the same time. Just once I'd like to see a good poll. Once. At least three possible choices are not people in the strictest sense of the word. I leave the determination of which three (or more!) as an exercise for the reader. [Edit: English good talking!!!] —Alorael, who always encourages his readers to get more exercise. Then you can feel less guilt when enjoying the gift of the man (person?) who invented chocolate. quote:Actually, I'm pretty sure he was just mocking the misspelling of bin Laden's name in the poll. I mean, it's Arabic so there's a bit of laxity allowed in the transliteration -- "bin Laden" or "bin Ladin" are okay, but "ben Ladden" is a bit beyond the pale. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Oh. Yes. Well. Monosyllables in self-defense! To be fair, Osama ben Ladden is a lot closer to correct than quite a few mangled Arabic to English translations. I still want to know who's responsible for the bizarre idea that for Arabic and only Arabic there should be K-like sounds represented by Q. Why Q? But enough hobbyhorsing. —Alorael, who now wonders if Oussamma ben Laudun has been hiding in plain sight for some time. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |
