Well, let's put it to the test and see if everyone really can have a serious discussion on it. :) -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Especially considering that there are only about four or five females that actively post, so what is the point? [ Thursday, June 16, 2005 13:34: Message edited by: Aurelia ] -------------------- Nena Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

From what I hear, Morgan, your posts were deliberately generated to be as non-spammy as possible but as numerous as possible also. Were you the first to 1000, BtW? -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

Because it might just end up a half-decent topic. Sure, in any topic, you always have some people who will wander in and say something random and walk out, but when the people who walk into a topic and can say something constructive and meaningful, then it has a point. If you require to ask further on why, then merely ask yourself if a tree falls in the forest and no-one's around to hear it, does it make a sound? While you're working that one out, everyone else can have a fun chit-chat. :P Besides, some of these young 'uns will have to learn it, sooner or later. :P -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

I suspect these post-count topics are just an excuse for Aran to boost his post count. [ Thursday, June 16, 2005 19:55: Message edited by: Ash Lael ] -------------------- Sex is easier than love. Posts: 1861 | Registered: Friday, February 11 2005 08:00 |

I don't really expect these topics to boost his post count noticeably. He does them once a month, and posts in them 5-10 times. So only about 70 extra posts per year. -------------------- I'll put a Spring in your step. Polaris Posts: 2396 | Registered: Saturday, January 29 2005 08:00 |

More like boost everyone's postcount. But the actual purpose is to shame people into spamming less by showing them the extent of their postage. It's working amazingly, no? :P -------------------- The Encyclopaedia Ermariana <-- Now a Wiki! I beg to differ. It seems that people try to get to the number one spot, and therefore they post more. But it is still good, as you can be shocked at where you are positioned. Afterall, I had no idea I had dropped off that much... EDIT: Link to active users doesn't work for me, it seems. I just tried then. Aye. After all, if it was trying to shame people, it doesn't do a very good job, as I believe that that said that the posting levels had gone up, compared to last month. Also, add to that that we lost two days, in this calendar month, as he had to post it early. Posting is usually seasonal, though. You'd think that it'd go down in summer, when people are going to go out and have fun, in the nice warm sunshine and go up, in winter, when it's too cold to go out, but oddly not... -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

You're either counting the IB or you're incorrect. I'm pretty sure I was the first to 1000 on the UBB and Morgan was the second. That was the first time I realized that I was a shameless spammer. It was not the last. —Alorael, who is now a repentant spammer. See, he's only 14th now! He's recovering! Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |
