There was the Spiderweb ikonBoard before this. Before that, there were the Lyceum boards on Dencity and Aceron's boards and the Arena on InsideTheWeb.

With my participation on these boards so far, I have more than sufficiently demonstrated that the former is true.

Still, if you don't believe me, you could email Richard White and he would be more than happy to take the receipt for my purchase of Galactic Core off of his wall, out of its expensive frame, and send you a scan of it.

I don't have one. When you post once every six months like I do, you don't need one and I doubt I would notice if I did get one.

The commuty has been around for over eight years now and is still pretty strong. Most of the ancient ones from before the release of Blades of Exile are gone, but a few still remain.

Which fora are you talking about? There was one before the current.

As Imban's mentioned, there were actually several different community forums before the SW UBB; at least 5 by my count, one of which (The Lyceum) is still going strong.

There were Aceron's BoE and Arena boards, and then the Lyceum on Dencity and ITW, and the Arena and Lyceum on ezBoard, plus TM's board and Brett's BoE board.

The SW mailing list? Yes. I think that's still operative, actually.

Don't forget Desperance, although that's related by membership rather than content.

I remember Archmage Alex from the Ikonboard. He went by "The Sorceror" or something.

Yep, that was me. Except it was "The Sorcerer".

Oops, guess I'm not as much of an oldbie as I thought. My mistake. Does that make me a middlebie or you an ancientbie?

now come on, alot of people know you just by your member number.

and as much as i can beg drakey, i can't get a custom title without doing something obscenely stupid, as he tells my every time.

I guess I'm a somewhat older newbie. Or a very new middle-bie. Anyhow, newbiehood is relative. Don't forget that I'm nearly a year older than Kelandon, and of the two of us, he's twice the oldbie I am. :P

Alec and FBM were both uncanned a few days ago.

Where do I fit on the scale of newbie-ness, I'd like to know? I joined after you and before Kel, and the three of us are basically the only 2003-on new members that have been active up to this point.

Actually, I think Kel started in 2004, not long before me.

I reckon I still qualify as newbie.

EDIT: Any ideas for a new moniker for me? I could always use my college telnet logon (yes, we used telnet back then), Milleran. It's a bit weak though...

By 2003-on, I meant from 2003 up to the present. Not the best way to state it, I suppose.

Actually, I ought to have included BSC and you, AM, with the three of us in the group of active recent arrivals.

I'll probably always be a newbie. :P

BtW, FBM, did you notice you were un-canned before Drakey's post?

I once received the custom title "Can o' Spam" for posting to frequently.

Of course, considering my idiocy, the quality of any of my posts is quite low.

I actually noticed it, the same day.

I'm at the very maximum, a middlebe. Maybe an oldbie, simply through member number, if you're only taking this board into account. Maybe even a newbie, if you're taking the whole lifespan of the community into account. Then again, I'm just me.

Well, there are newbies, which is a state of being and adaptation to the community, which could last a week or two years. Then you're just a member. And there comes oldbie.
