Wood blocks? I think Tonka Trucks are better, they're practically indestructible and potentially ingestible parts can be removed.

NASA claims they will organize a manned spaceflight to Mars. We certainly have the necessary technology to perform such a feat, but why should we travel to Mars? Yes, we are constantly yearning to quench our endless questions about the universe, but aside from that I doubt their is any credible reason to do so.

Some hopeful individuals feel that we are capable of colonizing other solar systems, or even terraform currently uninhabitable planets. The nearest solar system to our sun is Alpha Centauri, and even that is over four light years away. Laws of physics state that faster than light travel is impossible, so getting there anytime soon is unlikely. Even so, many scientists have concluded that wormholes are entirely possible. Wormholes, however, require a massive amount of matter and energy, and humans are incapable of such a feat.

My question is; is there any valid reason to attempt the colonization of other planets?

I agree with Ephesos as far as actually creating such a game.

"Geneforge Arena," as you call it, would be a innovative and fun game at first, but I would quickly grow tired of it.

I've always had an affinity for winter, especially since this summer revealed all time record highs for our town. However, despite the searing weather, our first snow was in late September.

(No, Northern Nevada is only semi arid, and our temperature extremes extend in both directions)

According to scientific studies, hot temperatures result in more unrest than cold weather.

Unless my life is threatened, my PDN will always be Excalibur.

As for age, I assume that most members are in their teens or early twenties.

Is anyone on these boards old by their own definition?

- Running away from a boarding school? I don't blame him/her
- Too often do adolescents fail to see the other side of the argument. Firewalls are integral in a school district, as it prevents criminals from accessing files about our identity.
- In most establishments of education, I would be against access to Myspace. I personally don't like the website, but I disagree with the institution banning recreational outlets. It certainly should not be accessed during school hours.

No; it was a psychology test, just poorly created.
The poll had a flaw; as I own a dog and compulsively answer polls.

Doesn't Synergy have a degree in psychology?

How'd the U.S. accumulate so much debt in the first place? The nation's been involved in several useless and costly wars, but that can't be the only contributing factor.

On a second thought, America's government is in so much debt that if you divided it evenly among the American population, everyone would owe roughly $50,000. Most of American citizens are in debt, but again, it isn't necessary

Internet is available throughout the world; it doesn't cost much, and it doesn't effect our environment either. Internet isn't considered a luxury any more, since it's widespread.

Note: Federal spending is not managed by one person, thousands would be a more appropriate number.

Many Americans concur that ending involvement in Iraq would save millions in funds. We have no reason to interfere with other countries affairs, neither do we have the right to demand that other nations cease research on nuclear weapons.

The IRS needs to be replaced by a more expeditious and less corrupt system. Congress should quit printing out money to pay debts, or we'll end up like Germany after WWI. The federal reserve bank should be removed, and be replaced by competing banks who create money. That solves inflation problems.

The AMA and Teacher's Union have a monopoly, and should be broken up with all speed. Hospital's charge exorbitant prices, if anyone else charged exorbitant prices like that they'd be charged with price gouging. The tremendous amounts of money spend to satisfy grossly expensive hospital bills could them go towards medicare and what not.

The government spends too much money on researching useless things. The government once had Boeing and some other company compete to make a new type of military aircraft. In my opinion, that's a much less costly way to research, as the companies have loads of money in their back pockets.

Why does America need such a large army? We're the most technologically advanced country in the world in terms of military. Military should only be used in defense, and congress should decide whether or not we go to war.

Americans should be able to own property. Who cares if you construct your own house? We shouldn't have to ask the government permission for every inane little thing in the world. If the government got rid of bogus licenses and laws, they'd have more money because they aren't enforcing the oppression of almost every citizen in the U.S.

Americans in general waste money. Enormous quantities of perfectly edible food is thrown away. People blast the heater on in the winter, when they could just throw on a sweater. If people tried to live where they work, they could simply walk or ride a bike to work. Not only would that save tons of money, health would improve drastically. We don't need lights on when we're nowhere in the room, we don't need to drown our yards, we don't need to take horrendously long showers, and we definitely don't need the heaps of junk in our garage we never use.

People shouldn't complain about homeless people, or individuals who aren't perfectionists with their yards. We're financially oppressed by society! Why should you be angered by someone who doesn't want to weedeat every day?
