According to Aran (Page 11 of this thread), nothing matched up. I'm guessing this is someone who's been watching these boards for a long time, and only recently registered to embark on a senseless kamikaze mission.

I had some trouble with that question too. The first thought that popped into my mind was, 'define hurt and define small animals'. I'm pretty sure that I don't harm mice when I throw them out of the house, but I'm sure it hurts.

My keyboard has a better sense of humor then I do. I'll leave the typo in there, because it's just more fun that way.

True.

However, XxXx wasn't illiterate either. Annoying as all get out, yes, but not illiterate.

I found one near collision to be very helpful. It pulled my head out of the clouds, at any rate. Or, rather, two seventh graders ripped my head out of the clouds.

I'd argue with that, but it's probably true. Oh, and you put that apostrophe in the wrong place. :P

I have to disagree. There are certain people that, no matter what upbringing they have, they turn out goo or evil. Generally, in this case, it's evil.

Other then that, I think this topic is having a bizarre effect on people.

I choose the recent memory option. Mainly because it comes closest to what I would say. In certain cases, I think memory alteration would be acceptable. If someone went through some sort of severe psychological trauma due to some event, you could wipe the memory of that event, thus allowing the person to live a normal, happy life.

The one factor I'm not sure anyone is considering is the human factor: mistakes. You could easily make some sort of mistake while altering someone's memory, doing some serious damage. You could wipe the wrong memory, for example. It thus becomes a situation of weighing the risks with the benefits, and whether the risk is worth the reward.

No. It's more of a surprise wrench thrown into the party's plan.

quote:
2) The kidnapping makes sense only if the whole thing was engineered to get the reward into the hands of the enemy.
Actually, it's for different reasons all together. I will tell you that it has nothing to do with the reward.

quote:
3) If that is the case, the party had better damn well be just killed by the enemy, because otherwise (Dintiradan can fill in the blanks here). Of course, then they are dead, but that never bothered TM, now did it? Alternatively you could have them a. wash up on the beach, b. wake up from a coma in a remote druid's house, or c. wake up in a row boat, cast adrift.
The party gets rescued from the bad guys. Sort of.

quote:
Ok?
As far as I can tell. :P

By the way, I sent both you and Ephesos another PM.

Because it's the one place that I could actually sort of kick back and relax in, and the one place that didn't have the same air of panic as the rest of the cities in Avernum. Also, in A2, it was the first place I had found magic lockpicks, and in A4, it was the only way to get through Almaria. I think those are excellent reasons for choosing Camp Samuels.

I think so, but I haven't played it in a while.
quote:
2) I played G1 as a Shaper and just started G2 as a Guardian. The fyora I created at the beginning really sucks (he misses his shots as often as not, and I don't think that ever happened in G1). Is this because I'm a Guardian or because in G2 fyoras suck?
Both. Fyora, along with other creations, were going through a bit of re-balancing. Also, Guardians aren't as good as Shapers when it comes to making creations.
quote:
3) In G1 you can pause the game by hitting escape and then switch into some other applications. I haven't found a way to switch out of G2 yet; is there one?
If you're on Windows and have a certain keyboard, you can hit the Windows key (It's the weird little key with the flag-like Windows thing on it.) and it will minimize GF2. It can take a while, though.

That might be for the better. The (fictional) forums might have some real problems in the near future, and without a competent healer, it could get very nasty.

Dikiyoba's right. That isn't quite as impressive as Retribution. But it gets the job done.

*Goes off and practices three spells. Smite, so that I can battle TM. Unshackle Mind, for when the spell bounces off of him harmlessly, and he comes at me with a verbal super-assault. And, finally, Running. For when TM decides I need to go the way of Tyranicus.*

Thanks for reminding me, I have some in the freezer and I should get it out one of these days and cook it up. Mmmm calamari. :D

Don't let Delicious Vlish catch you saying that...

At any rate, I don't eat much seafood. I prefer my food to be grown on land. Although I won't say no to Crab Ragoons. I'm also pretty sure I spelled that wrong.

EDIT: 'elicious'?!? My keyboard has gone rogue!
