The only thing you can command it to do is shut itself down. I don't know how much leadership you need, but 12 is always a good number. I've never just let it live, so I can't say. I assume it would keep making problems for you with the rouges, but if you are a rebel, who cares. Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

It sounds to me like you went far south west into Taker lands. Head all the way south east and meet the Barzites. Rising is south west of the Loyalist Encampment, and north of the Breeding Pits. The Breeding Pits are west of Kss-Urg's vally. Edit: I don't have a saved game where I haven't entered Gazak-Uss, so the option is not there for me. I am certain the answer is very close. This is the entrance to the most difficult area in the game. Someone else may have some insight on how to enter, but you will find it if you talk to all the characters near by. Personally I would play one of the three, or the entire trilogy first. Mostly to follow the storyline, but also because each part of the trilogy is a larger game. There will be more scenarios coming, but the trilogy is massive in comparison. Download all the demos and pick the one you like best. Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

quote:I agree with this completely. When I was a bit younger my friend and I would go out just to see how smiles and comments we could get. It was pretty fun, but there was never a desire to go home with someone. The only second glance I had about Phaedra was that she would likely be cold going everywhere like that. 1. The only other ways into the mountain base are to head north from Rising, or west form the Loyalist Encampment. You'll have to go around. 2. Hermit Crossroads- The door to the south. You will have to talk to Learned Thani who is west of the door for the location of a concealed switch. Somewhat living would be a vegetative state. The being has pulse, it processes food and fluids, but it has no thoughts, feelings or concept of existing. It has no life in of itself. Granted that is a crude term for such a condition, but it is more or less accurate. -------------------- Nena Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

This would involve not only the being itself, but the other beings involved as well. There is no need to kill a partially living thing that requires minimal care and harms no other life. Say this person needed round the clock care for nine months. This may cause a lifetime of suffering to those taking on the responsibility. The loss of education, career, or other vital aspects of ones life may or may not be worth the being that is only somewhat living. -------------------- Nena Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

If you are in the area Mountain Base heading north you get to a row of pylons leading to a door. Is this what you mean? If so there are two doors, one to the left and one to the right. In each room is a lever. Pull both levers. You will not be able to enter from the north without previously opening the door. There is of course the placebo effect. Faith in being healed can heal. Jesus often healed people due to their great faith. If a miracle is prayed for how much of it is self caused? The same may apply to praying for others. People often feel better or heal when they know someone cares. -------------------- Nena Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

One of the nice things about these games is there is no correct way of doing things, or a rigid storyline. I suppose you are asking what the outcome will be deepening on what is done. If you want to aid the Shapers in upholding their laws assist the Obayers. If you want to try to change Shaper ways peacefully aid the Awakened. If you want to try to change Shaper ways forcefully aid the Takers along with the power hungry outsiders. To uphold Shaper laws, but assist the outsiders aid the peaceful outsiders. I like Avernum 2 as well. They each have things that make them great. I enjoyed playing all three. A3 was pretty good as well, but I liked playing in the realm of Avernum. A1 was lacking the newer features of 2 and 3, but still is very worth playing. Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

You don't get to use the Geneforge. It was designed for Drakons. Unfortunately you don't actually get to see the creature behind the door, well you do get to see his arm. He's a Drakon anyways. Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

Why is it assumed to be an act of God, or a miracle just because it can't be explained? Perhaps some things could be classified as miracles, but is it not possible that people just want to see a miracle? If God gave us free will, and free reign of our lives why would it intervene every time someone gets a brain tumor or is hit by a car? What about those who don't receive a spontaneous cure? Are they assumed to be unworthy of said miracle? -------------------- Nena Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

I enjoy higher education very much. I like to learn new things and intellectual stimulation improves intelligence. I disliked high school immensely, but most people do. The system is far to restring and annoying. I'd much prefer to spend half my life in a structured learning environment to pulling a 9-5 at McDonalds. -------------------- Nena Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

I don't think disease would be end of our species. Between the ability to adapt and our technological capabilities we would likely endure. I would guess our end would be either making the Earth to toxic to sustain life before we could migrate to a new planet, or a colossal natural disaster. If success is measured by amount of time in existence humans are fairly low on the chain. One example would be Cockroaches. -------------------- Nena Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

The only use for them it one of the ingredients in the “Make Canisters” quest. You can't wear them or sell them, so leave them somewhere until you can use them. I found it easier to just loot the canisters. Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |
