I think Jeff does well in designing scenarios. Given the large scope of his work he manages to give players the flexibility to play the game in different paths. the advantage of small scenarios as developed by the editor and independents is the ability to force players to follow a preconceived route and thereby reveal a story (ala Canopy). This is disatisfying from my standpoint in that the only real control as a player I have is how to fight the battle and whether or not I win. I can plan to win the battle but not the war. On the other side, Jeff's large scenarios do become generic, especially as you level up. Race attributes and character skills become relatively less important with time/experience. So, I would like to see:

1) a better plot/story line (perhaps several depending on choices you make during the game)

2) character attributes that become more individualized and not less as your character develops. Thus, choosing a slith/nephil/human for the long term becomes important (especially if you play singleton).

3) perhaps the side quests/missions would not all be playable depending on the choices you make. I.e. you choose to side with the empire, the rebels do not give you a mission, because of that you cannot get a special item/skilltraining/spell advancement. Then, there are real consequences to choosing sides.

4) there could also be time elements to some of the missions/side quests (ala ZKR), again forcing you to choose, with consequences)

5) perhas some elements of non-criticl play could be added, like designing and building a mansion, governing a farm, opening your own store/training center. This could fill in time between quests and allow the character to "develop"

As I suspected. Oh well, it's just time. Although in the big picture I took the bread after the town was destroyed, thus the "owners" cannot reclaim possession. Unless you are making the statement that the bread belongs to Puditus, who by destroying the town seems to have cast away his title to the possessions. And, without a caretaker, the bread and bacon would either be eaten by wolves/bears/predators invading the town or spoil. So, I did nothing morally wrong.

Now that I'm justified I think I will edit myself to innocence (although to be fair I will discard the bread and meat).

OK, I stole the food in town and angered Putidus. Now, when I get to the castle he kills me. Is there any way to placate his anger or do I have to replay the entire scenario (I know, I should have a save file but I overwrote it later on).

I've just about finished this scenarion but I can't seem to complete some quests.

deliver letters: How can I deliver the letter to the commander of Norton - is this quest completeable?

cure zubrin?: (forgotten his name) I gave him the tea and the curing elixer from Norton but he is still sick and I still have the quest

Find beasts lair: It says its in the NW forest but I cant seem to find it. Could I already have killed the beast (before I got the quest) If so, tcan this quest still be completed.

Wierd.

My one machine has winxp (home) and when I talk to Kasspher I get an unhandled exception error. I take the same game file and play it on my win98 machine and there is no error.

So, upshot to you Kelandon is I don't really have a file to send to you to solve my problem.

I am wondering if the error causing an unhandled exception when speaking with Khassper is fixed in v1.03. When I played through v1.02 the error occurred both when I went south first and when I first went to the altar and sanctified it before talking to Khassper. Really annoying as I never did talk to Khassper.
