While killing Vargath(the big dragon at the end), Phaedra died, although the rest of the party survived. When I walked out the secret passage and left Vargath's little fort with Phaedra and pressed okay to Ithik's message, i get a screen that says: unhandled exception:c0000005 At address:0040ae2a what does this mean? P.S. I'm using windows xp home edition [ Saturday, March 12, 2005 11:34: Message edited by: samurai56 ] -------------------- samurai56:the video game guide you don't have to buy! I'm trying to figure out what causes these things in this topic. If anyone knows, post there. If you have a solution for this specific issue, post here. The dragon is named Galthrax, not Vargath. I've gotten this report before and am still looking for a solution. EDIT: If worst comes to worst, you can update to the latest version of Bahssikava by downloading it from my web site and use the Set Cutscene Speed ability to eliminate that cut scene entirely. You still get the important information out of the ending, but it should avoid the crash. It has something to do with that message itself. If I eliminate that message, the rest of the cut scene runs fine. Be back soon with another update. EDIT: I got it! What's happening is that the text buffer is getting too long, because two of the messages are showing up when only one should be. I'll have a fix for this momentarily. EDIT 2: Save this text file and replace the text file of the same name in your Bahssikava folder with this one, and the error in Vasskolis should go away. Argh!! now when I press save to save the file, a screen pops up saying: This wep page could not be save in the selected location. What happened?? What if I go in to the current file, delete it, and paste the new one in the same file? I am wondering if the error causing an unhandled exception when speaking with Khassper is fixed in v1.03. When I played through v1.02 the error occurred both when I went south first and when I first went to the altar and sanctified it before talking to Khassper. Really annoying as I never did talk to Khassper. -------------------- "Dikiyoba ... is demon ... drives people mad and ... do all sorts of strange things." The save file that I got to reproduce that error didn't work, so no, I couldn't do anything about it. If you tell me exactly when it happens (i.e., the last thing that was said immediately prior to the crash), or even better, send me a save file shortly before this error occurs, then I'll take a look at it. Otherwise, there's not much I can do. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Smoo: Get ready to face the walls! Wierd. My one machine has winxp (home) and when I talk to Kasspher I get an unhandled exception error. I take the same game file and play it on my win98 machine and there is no error. So, upshot to you Kelandon is I don't really have a file to send to you to solve my problem. -------------------- "Dikiyoba ... is demon ... drives people mad and ... do all sorts of strange things." I'm on Win 2000. I don't experience the Kahssper crash when I sanctify the altar before I go to see him. In that case, the cutscene plays and all is well. When I go to see him first, his last passage before the crash is: "The ghosts are here because the soldiers activated a curse. They are here to inflict vengeance on all living things who intrude." He gives you a long look. "Including you." ef, do you have/could you make a save file right before the crash and send it to me? If not, it's okay, and I'll try to make do with just the knowledge of the location of the bug, but it would be helpful to be able to work with it. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Sorry to doublepost. Kel, how do I save a crash? I mean, I can save before the cutscene. But once it starts, I have to wait for it to end before saving again, and that is when the crash occurs. Anyway, file sent. I give you the pics: [ Wednesday, March 16, 2005 13:56: Message edited by: ef ] -------------------- Polaris Rache's A3 Site reformatted 2/3 done Rache's A3 Site, original version Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

I was hoping you'd make a save file from right before the crash, i.e., shortly before the cut scene starts. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. I did. Should be in your mailbox by now. Edit: I don't like the message in the second pic, as it seems to indicate that the crash may not be due to a bug (in the game itself), but to muddled interaction between Windows and the BoA.exe. I got the same message in Perfect Forest (the Lost Mine crash), and Stareye was never able to trace that error properly. It is interesting that Win 98 does not have that problem (FAT 32 system). Win 2000 is a mixture of NT and FAT 32, it has both, which makes it more stable then 98, and on the other hand more compatible then XP.
