OOC: Again, sorry. Been busy. Also, from now on I'm italicizing all my characters thoughts. IC: Cyrus stomped along, thinking to himself. "Great. Now we've got a bounty on our heads. Not that it matters for me, I'm already dead, but still." He glanced at some of the others. "Poor kids. Well, not really kids...compared to my seven-hundred years, I suppose." he thought. His mind wandered along down several paths at once. "Damned archer. No honor in picking people off. I wonder how far I could throw him..." He looked at the archer, sizing him up. "Mmm....I'd say a good ten, maybe fifteen yards." His thoughts were interupted, as Sequoia came up behind him. "Hey, you dropped something." He said, handing Cyrus one of his arms. "Oh, did I drop that? Thanks." He took his arm back and replaced it, muttering a few words of necromancy. "Damnit, I need to get someone to renew this enchantment. Maybe I can find something in there to help." He jerked his head at the mountain. Unforunately, he moved a bit too violently, and his head rolled off onto the ground. His body didn't have the time to stop and think, so it ended up kicking his head a short distance away. Within seconds, the rest of his body crumbled. Again he swore. "Damn, can you guys stop for a moment? I need about an hour to fix myself." Posts: 70 | Registered: Sunday, December 19 2004 08:00 |

OOC: Erk, sorry I haven't been around. Major internet issues. IC: Cyrus looked bemusedly at the suit of armor. "Hmm. Somehow familiar. I'm sure I've seen armor like that before." He muttered to himself, "Damn fleshies. Always trying to push us life-impaired around." OOC AGAIN: More later. No time. Posts: 70 | Registered: Sunday, December 19 2004 08:00 |

IC : Swearing loudly, Cyrus awoke. He put his helmet back on, and clambered out of the well. "Maybe I can at least scare whoever dropped that on me." He reached the top, and looked around. Not seeing anyone, he turned around to climb out. At that point, he noticed the man in the green cloak, which gave him such a start that he fell back into the well, swearing and splashing around. quote:OOC: You're not supposed to control other peoples characters. Read the rules in the first post again. IC: Cyrus wandered away from the tavern. If skulls could have expressions the way the face of a living being's face could, his would have been twisted into a scowl of disgust. Nearby, he saw a few children playing. He hurriedly put his helmet back on, as he didn't want to scare the little ones. He wandered towards the center of town, where he found a small well. Cursing, he decided to get some rest- Although he was undead, his spirit grew tired eventually. He hopped into the well, splashing down at the bottom. "Damn armor is going to rust. Oh well." His spirit then decided to get some sleep. Posts: 70 | Registered: Sunday, December 19 2004 08:00 |

IC : Cyrus strode into the tavern, his plate mail clanking as he wandered towards the bar. "An ale, my good man!" he bellowed, joyfully sitting upon a wobbling stool. His voice had a rather echoing sound, coming from inside a large horned helmet. As the bartender went to fetch some of the towns cheap booze from a barrel, the warrior spun around on his stool and surveyed the occupants of the tavern. Townsfolk milled about, looking vaguely like bored sheep. "Here ye go, mate. Tha'll beh two gol' coins." Cyrus jumped at the sound of the mans voice, as a heavy mug of ale clanked onto the table. "Oh, thank you, thank you." Grabbing a few coins from his pouch, he paid the barman and took a big swig from his tankard. While he managed to drink some of the ale, the rest sloshed down onto his still-equipped helmet and armor. A few of the patrons gave him a funny look, but they had seen stranger. He sat there, spilling his ale for a good long time, before one of the bar maids came over to him, and whispered in his ear, (or where his ear might have been, were it not covered by a helmet.) "Sir...you're um...leaking" Cyrus's eyes widened, as he looked down at the seams of his armor. It was true. The ale was draining out his plate mail. Hurriedly, he grabbed a nearby napkin and tried to mop up what he could. Unfortunately, the other tavern-goers observed this, and some began to whisper. The whispers began to turn to mutterings, and mutterings to loud, obnoxious yelling. Cyrus knew what would happen next, it had happened before. He only hoped he could clean himself up before the other people noticed it. "HEY! Look at im' ee's gettin' the floor wet all over." Too late. "Ey! Why ye drippin' all over? 'ad a little accident?" a man asked. His friends over at another table guffawed. "Ooh, look at tha' big baby!" "Take off 'is 'elmet! Bet there'll be a big babie's 'ead under there." "Damn." Cyrus thought, as the man grabbed one of his horns, and yanked his helmet off before he could protest. Everyone stared in complete and utter shock at him. The was an uncomfortable silence for about half a minute. The only sound was the man dropping the helmet in awe. "Undead!" someone screamed. Everyone began screaming and running to nowhere in particular, except away from Cyrus, who sighed, picked up his helmet and strode towards the door. "Another town I have to leave." he thought, as he stormed out, his helmet under his arm. DESCRIPTION: Cyrus stands at a solid six feet, although he is much lighter than he should be. He normally refuses to take off his armor, somewhat embarassed about his true nature. His armor is somewhat rusted, though still sturdy and strong. He typically wields a great twohanded axe, slung across his back. Posts: 70 | Registered: Sunday, December 19 2004 08:00 |

To me, I've always thought it was the sign of a good villain if the player actually hated them. If the villain has proper motivation for each of these things, and it'll make them more unpleasant, I say go for it. I like playing the good guys, and I like vanquishing the truly evil characters. I usually shower once a day. When I was very young, I often went two or three weeks without one. If I was forced to, I'd usually cry. Posts: 70 | Registered: Sunday, December 19 2004 08:00 |

Is there any way of making the bottoms of the little islands spiky? Making them look more like flying rocks and less like flying squares (Actually, they kinda remind me of Chia Pets as they are now.) could help the picture. Posts: 70 | Registered: Sunday, December 19 2004 08:00 |

quote:Halo 2's pistol is actually quite useful. It can fire extremely quickly, and when dualed with a Plasma Pistol, quickly becomes one of the best weapons to use against elites, and excellent in multiplayer. Posts: 70 | Registered: Sunday, December 19 2004 08:00 |

I absolutely loved Halo. Maybe the fact that I had just been playing Red Faction (most godawful FPS I have ever played. period.) could have influenced me, but I really enjoyed Halo. Sure weapons didn't have alternate fire like in most modern FPSes, but they actually made grenades useful, unlike other games where you pick them up and never use them. Halo also add a good deal of strategy (On legendary, at least, because seriously, you were roughly the physical match of a blue elite) because you couldn't just rush in wildly shooting. Cover was important, as were strategic tosses of grenades, and of course, your marine friends. The only real problem I had with Halo was the levels were extremely repetitive, and during a few of the later bits became exceptionally boring. Then Halo 2 came along, with level design FAR surpassing that of Halo. I'm not going to bother talking about the plot, because quite frankly, when it comes to shooters, I could really care less about a plot. Halo 2 was more plot heavy, and I skipped most of the cutscenes, but damn did I have a good time playing it. There were some unique weapons in Halo (the needler was pretty cool) but in the end all you needed was the ridiculously useful pistol. (decent damage, a scope, can hold lots of ammo, all around good in any situation.) Halo 2 has some great balance, I found myself using just about every weapon on numerous occasions. In short, I like Halo, I like Halo 2 better. Most other FPSes aren't really fun for me, and Halo is one of the few I can actually stand playing. Ew. This one would be much better if it weren't for the ugly tiled 'Spiderweb Software' logo in the background- at least with the old one you didnt notice it so much. Posts: 70 | Registered: Sunday, December 19 2004 08:00 |

What I think would be interesting would be if the party wasn't some random band of adventurers, like he usually does- perhaps having the party be a group of bandits, and in the beginning everyone would hate you- towns wouldn't let you in, you'd frequently fight soldiers and guards (not the freakishly tough ones like in Exile III. I hated those guys.) and eventually you'd have to find a way of getting the Empire (or Avernum, depending on if its in the caverns or not.) to forgive you for your crimes. quote:Remember Wall of Force? Conflagration? quote:Eh, can't argue that, except that for me it doesnt make any difference because my singleton mage doesnt even get near them. quote:Actually, I think its 10 xp per level (I think, it is in BoE, not sure about the trilogy.) but even if it were by 8, thats 400 extra XP needed to reach level 50. By the time you're level 15 or so, 1 point of damage wont really make all that much damage, so that would mean 280XP is going to waste. EDIT: woops, messed up my quote tags. Just to let you know, BoE scenarios are crossplatform. Also, you haven't given us any info about the scenario, nor given any indication that is near completion, and as such, I do not think anybody really cares. Sorry. Posts: 70 | Registered: Sunday, December 19 2004 08:00 |
