I don't like the rubric idea at all, and I mostly agree with *I on this one. I like the idea of discussion-based judging for Best Scenario. That's not hard at all, but I think you missed my point. I'm saying that if you set an encounter in one outdoor section to do that, and then that encounter follows you into another, the special node won't be called, calling the node in the other outdoor section instead. It states this in the documentation, for the record. As for how to do it? Just use a dialogue box with 'attack' and 'flee' options, and if the party clicks 'flee', call a 'wandering will fight', and set the value so the party doesn't fight. -------------------- "Let us see what the new day brings." - Temas, Areni. There's lots of things you can do with these nodes. Be warned, though, that if you have more than one outdoor section, and the wandering encounter follows you into another (from where it started), it will call the wrong node (the one you probably don't want it to call. Haven't read much recently, but I read the first Pendragon book a few months ago. It was okay. I tried reading the second but got too bored to continue pretty early in the book. Re-read Harry Potter 6 a few months ago too. I'm looking forward to reading Captain Underpants and the Preposterous Plight of the Purple Potty People when it comes out in three days. Yes, I'm too old for those silly books. No, I don't really care. Those books keep me amused. :P Also looking forward to The End, the final installment in "A Series of Unfortunate Events", coming out in two months. On a matter of curiosity, when would official decisions about changing contest rules be made? A month before? Also, I think anonymous scores promotes BoE/BoA bias. Only one other person will see them and it seems easier to get away with rating based on taste/preference. Yes, I'm bumping an old topic, but something came to my head that I just need to get out. I am thinking that Best Scenario Judging should be judged like the Shark contest (i.e. ranking and discussion/debate on which scenarios should be placed where, rather than numerical scores), but only Best Scenario judging. I think this because this way, the results will be based more on how good a job the designer did, rather than how much the judge liked it personally. The results will be more fair, plus it helps squash BoE/BoA bias. The reason I suggest keeping numerical scores is because right now, I'm not sure if preliminary debating is really worth it. I'm not against it, but I'm not arguing for it either. As for preliminary judging, I love TM's idea here. And no, I'm not making this proposal for the purpose of giving my scenario a better chance of winning. :P What do you think?
